Excellent point, FarFromVegas, my apologies. I should have thrown a, "Most," or, "Some," in there somewhere.

I can cop to liking a team if they have a hot quarterback, though...;)

It's cool, I was watching U.S.A. Women's Olympic Indoor Volleyball for Logan Tom, long legs and she looks so angry when she plays. Hot.

And...another sports fan is born!

I watched because now my daughter wants to play. She's resigned herself to the fact she'll be too tall for gymnastics, since she's as tall as the fifth graders and she's in second grade.

You're absolutely right about that, I got into it in the worst possible way. I read all of the Official Rules of the game, playing strategies, why someone on each team is wearing the wrong color jersey, all of it.

Yes, the 'L' would serve as a tiebreaker ... 2 identical picks is unlikely but the 'L' would lose on that tiebreaker if it came up.

Anyone who has already picked should not be allowed to change their picks after a set of results IMO.

Those who pick late (after an obvious typo') should have some form of handicap against those who picked from the start.

It was not an obvious typo to me. I juts glanced at it and thought Wiz was waiting till playoffs teams had been decided. My mistake, but an honest one. I picked Patriot over Eagles by 3. Anybody want to explain how I became an AP player ?
Laying odds no one else will have the same teams. It is a long, long season.

It's not like I "snookered" anyone !

I also didn't take it as a typo. If it makes it better, I can't watch football, so I gained no extra advantage.

I picked Peyton Manning over SanFran by 16.

I wouldn't if offered. To me, it is sacrosanct. It's not some bits of metal and plastic churned out every year, it's one mighty congregation of every warrior who's ever EARNED the right to hoist it since 1892.

I'll never earn it, so I won't ever so much as touch it.

I work on football days, so sportsbars (or the TV section of Walmart) are also out. About all I could do is swing a camera off the high limit tables and point it at the TVs in the pit, and I'm fresh out of ideas to justify doing that ;)

Well, we know now why the Wizard was a bit distracted.

As far as advantage play goes, as a matter of fact I have graduated to that status, so I can see I just can't help myself anymore, it's coming natural to me now [g].

Just a reminder that picks are due by 9:59 AM this Sunday. You may not choose Chic or GB at this point. Also, I posted the picks thus far for a short time, but later removed them, to not give anybody who hasn't picked yet an unfair advantage. Sorry to bust your post quoting the picks so far SOOPOO.

I'm sorry I joined the site too late to jump in on this one, so I could be wrong, like I am every year. The NFL is one of my passions, though I'd never bet a dime on it. Since it doesn't count, and no, I would NOT suggest this if it did:

Kansas City over San Fran by 6

Yes, of course I'm a Chief fan.

(I think Pats win this year)

I made one NFL future bet this year - Chiefs under 7.5 wins. Hopefully one of us is happy.

If they don't win at least 10, the season will be a colossal failure. They have WAY too much talent on both sides of the ball not to. Very few people who don't actually pay attention to the Chiefs know that.

I concede. What a disappointment. I've been watching the Chiefs long enough to actually have seen them win the Super Bowl. This is the most disappointed I've been since 1997.

I've always been pretty realistic and knew they were going to suck or be mediocre, etc., but they have no excuse for giving up 75 points in two games. NONE.

I have to suffer through all the Chief fans who dump all the blame on Matt Cassel and the truth is, he didn't suck any more than the whole team. It was a team suck ass effort.

I hope my language doesn't get suspended or something????

Very bummed out.

Now they have New Orleans and Baltimore and San Diego.

I watched them win the AFL championship in 1962 as the Dallas Texans. LOL

And I collected from chumps betting on them in 1960.

My basis for the Eagles was why not. If they make it, no one else will have them. Plus no one could say I took advantage of late entry, as they lost week one. And those people who only look at last week when picking teams, found out the Eagles are the real deal. Shame my home town team ( Baltimore ) had to find out the hard way.

Looks like the 'skins have solved their quarterback problem, injury luck holding up, but now don't have the other things in place. They need a running game for sure, and meanwhile special teams and Defense have developed holes [although maybe the Rams are a sleeper this year]

AcesAndEights: Denver, over New Orleans by 4 points

Time to heat this up. The playoffs are starting to shape up!

Hmmmm, I clearly changed my pick (as per the deadline confusion compromise) to Denver over San Francisco by 4 points, which was noted in this post as well as in a PM sent to the Wiz, and acknowledged by him on 9/11 at 1:08am. I think the Wiz just missed updating my pick in the above-quoted post.

Not trying to be picky or anything, but my second (but still valid) prediction is looking much more likely at this point :).
