I live in Black Hawk Colorado. We have 18 casinos many of which now have video baccarat. My question is why do some of these games have short shoes (5 to 10 hands) and others have endless shoes? Is it a decision on the part of the casino to program them this way? I wont go back to the ones with short shoes, its too irritating. Any insight is appreciated!

Are the "short shoes" a regular 8 deck shoe that is just programmed to reshuffle after a few hands, or is the shoe actually programmed to be only 2-ish decks to begin with?

This was at the Isle (Ceasars) in Black Hawk. think it was an Interblock machine. It had the "Lucky Nines" prop bet on it. The main road grid would reset and blank out after 8 hands, 15 hands, etc. One time it was 60 hands. Very aggravating.

I guess my basic question is are they programming the resetting of the main road with variable # of hands on purpose, or is the machine malfunctioning?

It sure sounds like a malfunction. Next time you're there you should alert someone if they haven't fixed it by then.

I sent them an email reply on one of their surveys. Thanks for your assessment, I tend to agree with you.
