I'm not even sure what difference this will make, if there even will be a difference. Is anyone familiar with both? I'm kind of confused about this, because status was advertised for the marquee rewards to be good until Spring 2020 and now they're going away. Assuming your cards will be exchanged for something similar of course, but that assumption could be wrong though it probably isn't. I'm wondering what effect the new cards will have on promotions, don't know if the marquee rewards promotions/drawings will be the same or completely different, or what I experienced was not a feature of Marquee Rewards but the particular casinos. I have not really experienced anything from Mychoice I have found especially attractive based on limited experience.

My personal opinion is that Marquee is a pretty good program. I have the Icon card. They guarantee you certain benefits unlike MGM which you have to rely on getting targeted offers. I went to a Boyd property a few months ago. I played video poker at $50 a spin for 4 hours. When I was done I had $1 in comps. So you can imagine how I feel about Boyd properties.
I have talked to a host and one or two cashiers. I couldn’t get too much info but from what I gathered the Marquee card will still work on January 1 and not much will change. It sounds like they are just going to make the two programs the same. A host said they will status match sometime next year and it will be good for the whole year.
I do find it interesting that Penn National bought Pinnacle but I guess they thought the MyChoice program was better to go with rather than Marquee. Not sure what to make of that.

I think the card change won't happen until mid year. When it does happen, a card similar to Icon will need more play a year to keep. If I were PNG, I would get rid of Marquee Rewards just because I don't like the sound of marquee, it doesn't really resonate with people. I don't think Mychoice sounds any better. I am not expecting it to be better, how could it be better, why would the casino want it better, etc. I am pessimistic, but being pessimistic seems more accurate when dealing with casinos.

The biggest difference is the length of the tiers, now all a year to earn and a year to keep essentially. I don't like that, besides being grandfathered in the first year getting six months of status free. As I mentioned Icon, a comparable card will change from $400,000 in 6 months to $1,000,000 in a year.
Nothing seems special in my opinion that I've seen.
