Gold Tower King vs. Golden Gate Suite

Greetings!
Headed out to Downtown Vegas late May/early June and have a decision: Golden Nugget Gold Tower King room overlooking the pool versus Golden Gate Suite - Suite will cost me around $100 less overall, but I have never stayed in one of their suites before. Primary mission for the trip is lots of blackjack, craps and beer, along with R&R - R&R are very important.
Anyone care to weigh in on which would be more comfortable and relaxing?
