Not sure what the intention was with the hotel review page.
Take the review for Excalibur for example, one review, from 2009. Mentions that the poker room is all electronic tables, then right under it (in an edit) says they were removed and now have real tables. If your gonna make the edit, why not just remove the first part?
You should allow anyone to review (subject to mod approval if you like). Would make the reviews worth looking at. Otherwise the page doesnt seem to make any sense. could be quite a valuable resource to read reviews from the sort or people that frequent the site.

A lot of the reviews need updating. Stuff changes fast in Vegas.

A lot of the places need a review. I am sure someone here has stayed at Palms for example, yet it doesnt have a review.

I don't know whether it has anything to do with the change in ownership or something else, but I suspect reviews are not a priority. Even if a review is prepared, it isn't maintained.
In February 2014, I prepared a rather extensive review of the Cosmopolitan -- extensive at least for someone who had not gone there with the intent of preparing a review at all. That review was discussed quite a bit in the forum.
Then, at the 2015 Spring Fling last May, I mentioned to the Wizard that I had noticed that the photos no longer worked as they had before -- the little photos (placeholders) formerly would pop up as full-sized images so you could really see the things the text was discussing. Since everyone was busy at the Spring Fling, I followed up with a PM to the Wizard a few weeks later. He replied that he could see that it was not working and had referred the matter for JB to look into.
The photos are still not popping up four months later, so I suspect that someone in control does not much care about what the review looks like. I understand that there may be a lot of things with much higher priority than my photos, but it doesn't really appear that hotel reviews are high on the list.

I think that is a poor decision if true. Allow users to submit their own reviews, pending approval.
Would require next to zero maintenance, and would be a valuable resource in my opinion. I can read bog standard reviews on trip advisor, but if I want a review written by a math-savvy gambling know it all, where do I go? You'd think here.... But no.

Typically the reviews here are written with an extensive analysis of all (or most) of the games in the casino.Quote: IbeatyouracesWhat does being "math savvy" have to do with a hotel review?

For now, if you feel you have something to say about a casino, just stick it in the forums. I for one value that kind of input because casino websites are either poorly maintained or just intentionally uninformative
So Wizard, still no basic strategy for strip poker huh?

It's very easy to set up a Wiki page for something like this. It's free software and then users can edit information and site sources etc. That's how I would set up the review section if it was me in charge.

Because tripadvisor reviews are written by tourists who will say the slots are too tight because they didn't pay out. Such reviews are funny, but also uninformative.

Those should be "casino" reviews. Not hotel reviews.
