Hello everyone and just a quick etiquette question for Let it Ride table game

Just joined today and have a quick question about the let it ride table game and its variant. Any one know if its against the rules to ask players if they have a certain card you that you are looking for? Should I mainly ask the dealer if its OK first?

Asking the dealer is the worst option. I would show the other players your cards and I most of the time they will return the favor. Most dealers will look the other way as long as nobody says anything.
