I want to suprise my wife on our next Vegas trip by hiring a limo (or luxury town car) to go from the aiport to our hotel, instead of a cab or shuttle. Recommendations? I see Presidential mentioned a lot on other boards but...?

Arrange through your hotel. Put it on your room bill, and if you play enough, they will comp it. If not, expect to pay $40-60 + tip if memory serves.

Yeah, thought of that. But the hotel charges twice the going rate (our 1st stay at that hotel too so I don't know if my level of play will get a comp).

I hired Presidential for my sister and her husband when they went about 3 years ago. They enjoyed the ride so much they got the driver's card and called him to take them out to Rosemary's later that weekend. I think the big attraction is the champagne and roses more than anything.

The cab line at the airport can make the lines at Disney World look short sometimes! The shuttle is okay if you have an amusing driver who gives you the tour as you go to the 58 million different stops to drop off passengers, or if you're the first stop. I had one driver who was exceedingly entertaining but just as equally disdainful of the traffic rules and One-Way "suggestion" signs on one shuttle.

Hire the limo for an hour instead of for a ride. The price should be about the same and you can spend the extra time crawling up and down the strip while whooping and hollering out the sun roof.

Actually thats what most of the limo sites I've browsed do. Min. 1 hour rate even from airport to hotel.

Yup. Use the extra time to stock up on snacks and drinks for your room in a store at a more reasonable price than mini-bar and hotel shop rates if you don't get comps on purchases within the hotel if you don't feel like cruising the Strip on the way.

I always stop between the airport and hotel for at a minimum a case of water and a good bottle of scotch. This way I can stock the room for the week while I have the luggage cart hauling the rest of my stuff up to the room.

If you are going to the Venetian and do NOT arrive by limousine they look at you kinda funny and make the airport shuttle stop at some far off doorway rather than the main entrance.

I know its hard to estimate things but why risk paying double on an off chance of getting comped? Hire the limousine yourself, have a side trip to a liquor store, have a tour of the town (which you might get anyway depending on cab driver if you had taken a taxi) and arrive in style. I don't know if arriving by limousine will flag your players card or anything, doubt it would hurt you though.

what general figures are you getting for an hour in a limo cost [just roughly]
the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!”   She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder

Roughly $60 for a Town Car, slightly higher ($65-ish) for a "regular" (not rediculously long) limo.

Sadly you can get a ticket for that.

I have used Las Vegas Limousine in the past and they were great.

Recently I went with a group of eight people to Hawaii. We needed airport pickups at two separate houses in the Summerlin area to the airport. I arranged a large passenger van to pick us up at a cost of $80. On the return flight I didn't have any advance reservations. Two separate cabs would have run about $100, not including tip. So I approached a stretch limo driver who said he would do it for $125, plus take is to a third house to get our dog. We went with that.

I ended up using Presidential. No problems, service provided as advertised/expected.

Dogs love limos. They hate cinnamon.

He likes riding in any car. If anything, I think he didn't like the dark glass. Perhaps he didn't even know he was in a car.
