My name is Harris Mowbray and I am a programmer from the United States, currently residing in New York City. Since graduating with a degree in International Relations in 2022, I have been collaborating with governments around the world in order to make keyboards, online dictionaries, and learning resources for endangered languages. Additionally, I undertook a massive project in order to develop braille for every major language that doesn't have it, which got me onto the news in dozens of countries. Unfortunately, no company actually cares about any of this, but this year I became interested in the casino industry which I see as a path to a possible stable job.
In the last couple months I've made demos for a dozen games as well as a website to teach dealers how to deal/pay out various games (some of which I posted here). Additionally I can now calculate house edges, make optimal strategies, and I even designed a couple games with help from industry professionals. I am really passionate about this and sometimes when I am trying to go to sleep I genuinely see cards and numbers. However, I have no idea where to even start looking for jobs. I found a couple "senior developer" roles online, but nothing for someone with less than 5 years of experience.
Is there any company or casino that would hire for someone with these type of skills but no experience?
Do you think it is possible for me to get a job in the casino industry or do I need a different degree or experience as a card dealer (neither of which I particularly want to do)?
If anyone has any other generic or specific advice for me, I would really appreciate it. Additionally, if anyone is looking for someone to make a really cheap online demo for them, I can make a Side Bet for $75-$100, and a full game for $250-$300 (only $150 for baccarat variations).

I think a couple of fits might be:
- a less senior software/developer role in an iGaming company
- math analyst for GLI or BMM
You can always try the start your own business route, but might be difficult niche to get into. There are some that do dealer trainings, game demos, and support game designers (Vegas Aces comes to mind), or you could sell your own casino games (sounds promising but is very difficult), but regardless of what you do, most of the people I know with this type of skillset has a day job as well.

The casino development industry in Nevada is always needing programmers. I did it for about 30 years in Vegas.
