Tweeter BurntBurro who claims to be an expert table games player living in Las Vegas seems to play some poker online but mainly goes to various casinos and reports his session results. There does not seem to be anyone validating his claims or anyone who knows him. Ofcourse he has never tried to sell anything or tout a website either.
I just wonder if anyone here might think BurntBurro wins too consistently and has too few friends who ever send tweets to him.
Anyone know if his track record is really anywhere near as good as he claims?

Fri. Dec 18th Tweet: 2009 Year-end tally shows last quarter profit (Oct-Nov-Dec) of $22K. Will moveup to $100 chip play from $50 in Jan!

He seems to claim an impressive track record and he surely spends a great deal of time at it, but I wonder if the track record is a bit too good to be true. If he were selling some seminar or something I might not be so curious about his self proclaimed track record.

Just as I thought. His track record appears too good to be true! He does sell some sort of seminar and all his running around Vegas to various casinos and claiming such an impressive track record is just pure hooey or else he would allow at least occasional auditing of his claims. His customers have reported that he never issues the promised refunds and if you are not winning he only offers to give you private supplementary lessons at some absurdly outrageous fee. Since he never offered anything thru Twitter I wondered what was up but found some consumer ripoff site that had some posts about him. The BurntBurro makes claims for wins that simply too good to be true.Quote: FleaStiffIf he were selling some seminar or something I might not be so curious about his self proclaimed track record.
So, I guess this thread might as well be closed.

Ressurection?
After succumbing to a heart attack on January 16 2011, it appears that a different "gambling expert" took over the moniker BurntBurro and seems to have continued making unverified claims to "expertise" in table games play.

I haven't followed the BurntBurro. What are his total claims? How much money has he claimed to made?

I no longer have the details but his claims were absurdly high and since I at first thought he was not hawking anything at all, I was tempted to believe his track record. Then I learned he was indeed using his self-declared, un-audited track record to sell training seminars of some sort and decided he had to be bogus. He claimed to be visiting all these different casinos and having unbelievably profitable sessions with only a smattering of losses. I'm fairly confident it was virtually all bogus.

We (Mrs and I) have a friend who spends a lot of time at our local casino. Every now and then, Mrs will say to me, "Lori won another $2600 the other day." And my answer is, "I wonder how much she had to bet to win that?" My wife thinks I'm being churlish; she actually believes that our friend is way, way ahead of the casino, playing slot machines. But she's playing in the same casino everyone else is. She doesn't sit down to different odds. It costs a lot of money to hit those jackpots. I know, I've chased them.
Table games, no different. Different odds, but same principle.

Gamblers themselves, their friends and their spouses all probably have different "honesty levels". Some people might be more honest about their losses with a new found acquaintance sitting on the next barstool than they are with their spouses. The "won xxxx last night" is great but far too many gamblers seem to have a "one column" tally book. Wins are reflected in it, losses are not.
