Knowing the exact position of a particular card in baccarat

Hello,
I was reading this article in thewizardofodds website - Baccarat Odds Given Known Card (/games/baccarat/appendix/9/)
At the beginning there is a statement 'There are ways of knowing the exact position of a particular card in baccarat. By counting down the cards, the player will know when exactly to expect the known card.
How is this meant? I get that by counting cards you change probabilities of each card that's left in the shoe, but it is written in a way that you can know exactly which card will be where. Can someone please elaborate what is meant by exact position.

i read "exact position" here to mean something like "I know the 42nd card in the deck is an 8."

OK got it, but then question is how can you know exactly which card is in which position?

There are certain procedures that can expose a card in a known position -- the "ribbon spread" is among those. I cover this in chapter 60 of my book.
