Also, do people have a strategy for increasing or decreasing their bet size? For example, if I bet $25 on ante/blind and win a 4x bet, i’ll increase my next bet by $5 until I don’t win a 4x bet. I enjoy winning more on “hot streaks.” Do people think it is better to simply bet the same amount every hand? And yes, I know that the martindale system of doubling one’s bet after a loss is the road to ruin.
Thanks for your advice and thoughts.
Now I see the game from the house side, as I have "turned to the dark side " and become a dealer in the last few years and no longer play. I see the "overbet" all day every day, people who swear the money is on the trips bet. NEVER 4x bet.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
Quote: BoyoI know betting “systems” are worthless. Having said that, do any UTH players have a strategy for bet amounts? For example, what do people like to do re the trips bet ...
Because I do not bet the Trips bet I catch all the surprised comments like, "You don't bet the Trips? That's where ALL the money is!" Yup. That's me. "Well, y'see, it just doesn't work so good for me," is my usual reply.
However, I bet the Trips bet after every hand where my Blind bet wins. Because everyone at the table knows I never bet Trips, I make it a big thing by telling the Dealer, "If this crazy bet wins, we split the proceeds." Incredulous players often question whether I would really tip half of a straight flush or quads. I've split everything up to quads and full houses with my Dealers, much to their delight when it happens. I say, "Those Trips bets need all the help they can get." That's how I play my Trips bets -- to add excitement around the table.
Ummm... Not sure if it would be so simple to split winnings from a Royal Flush because of taxes, etc. But, the dealer tip would be generous.

My local casino has side bets on BlackJack for IN BETWEEN, TRILUX, AND PAIR SQUARE. I never play TRI LUX or PAIR SQUARE and only do IN BETWEEN if I am betting quarters on the flat bet and am up at least $100, I'll covert a quarter to 5 nickels and do 5 IN BETWEENS.
People always get so pissed at me for hitting a Triple Match on In Between when I'm not playing it too. Some gamblers are funny.
