Hi Wizard! I'm Agustin from Argentina. I love your educational gambling videos, they helped me to learn most casino games, but my favorites are blackjack and punto y banca, which is baccarat in US. I read your Argentinian casinos review and I was very happy to see that you had visited Tigre and its particular rules... hahaha.
Here in Argentina, each provincial government has the power to manage the casinos of their territory. In my province, Buenos Aires, the 12 casinos are all handled by the state (Tigre and Mar del Plata are among those) and the same table game rules are shared in all this casinos. This rules are kind of strange, as you experienced couple years ago, but I enjoy them. My cuestion is what is the basic strategy that I should follow, according to this variants?
The rules are the following:
-8 decks.
-Hole card.
-Blackjack pays 3 to 2.
-No resplit allowed.
-Double down allowed only on 10 or 11.
-No double down allowed after split
-No surrender.
-After splitting aces, only one card is given and Ace and ten are payed as blackjack 3 to 2.
-After splitting tens, ace and ten are payed as blackjack also.
-Dealer stands on soft 17.
-Blackjack push between player and dealer pays 1 to 2.
-Penetration of about 80%.
Thank you!
Agustin

An infinite-deck analysis with these rules finds no basic strategy changes from a blackjack game with the no-double-after-split S17 game. (See the Wizard's strategy for 4-8 decks with dealer standing on soft 17.) That is: the 3:2 payout for ten and ace from splitting tens wouldn't make any ten-splitting desirable for the basic strategy.
However, my infinite-deck analysis gives a house edge of only 0.54%. (Of course, the 8-deck game would have a smaller house edge.) The 3:2 payout on ace and ten from spitting aces and the 1:2 payout for blackjack pushes more than compensate for the unfavorable double-only-on-10-or-11 and the no-double-after-split rules.

Infinite deck analysis is a term I always find amusing. It reminds me an airplane with an infinite wingspan. Its kind of hard to park it in a hangar. Yet all aeronautical engineers calculate on the basis of an infinite wingspan.
At 0.54 percent house edge, you have an excellent situation.
Do casinos in Argentina serve free alcohol? That can erode a player's performance and therefore increase the effective house edge.
I recall reading that there were currency problems in Argentina, but quite frankly I do not recall the details and don't know if they persist or not.

Hi FleaStiff,
Here in Argentina there's no free alcohol served in this casinos. I think it happens because the bars and restaurants that function inside the casinos are concessioned to a private operator while the games are directly exploted by the government. Even though Puerto Madero is private, they don't offer free drinks too.
A couple of years ago there were some restrictions over the currency exchange. Actually, there is no restrictions on the exchange. However I remember that you could always gamble with US$ in the casinos of my country.
