How do you cross out a name or a face from a picture you'd like to post on the WoV forum?
I've seen fellow posters do this, but I don't know how to do it myself.
The remaining parts of the picture still show a clear representation of what I'm trying to share.
Thanks for your help,
LW
Quote: rdw4potusPhotoshop is best. Microsoft photo editor works, too & is free with some versions of Windows. In a pinch, ms paint works, too.

Thank you both, folks! I shall endeavor and post my results.

DJ, before I go hunting to download Photoshop, perhaps you can clue me in with an example or brief explanation? Appreciate the help. BTW, I don't have Microsoft Office loaded on my iPad, only Documents and Sheets. Meanwhile, I'll experiment pasting a picture into Documents and see if I can cross out names. Thanks!Quote: DJTeddyBearHell, you can even do that type of stuff in MS Word or Excel.

That would be best, as Photoshop costs money. After you paste your picture into a document, click on it so the outline with the little boxes on the edges appears. Then on the top menu, a category called "format" should show up. Click on that, and you'll be able to crop, overlay with blocking boxes, etc. Group it together if you use masking boxes, and save it as an image (with a new name), like a .jpg . Then you can upload it to a photo site and share it.
Yes, there's an Edit button, but the features are limited to cropping & resizing when a picture is pasted into "Documents" and then viewed on an iPad. Thanks for trying though, I haven't given up yet!Quote: DeucekiesIf the picture is on an IPad, I imagine there's an Edit button somewhere when viewing the picture. There's probably a feature that let's you draw on it.
Thanks, BBB. Same response as that given to Deucekies. "Documents" just doesn't have those features. I'm still searching for other Mark-up apps, though. I chose not to install MS Office because of the pricing, so that's on me.Quote: Beachbumbabs. . . a category called "format" should show up. It's really easy to crop out stuff, hide faces or text
Will try now, thanks for tip!Quote: ThenWhatHappensTry searching at osxdaily.com.
I'll try that. The oxysdaily link provided by ThenWhatHappens was an excellent link with the perfect solution and a HIDDEN app inside of the iPad -- alas, it's only for iOS 10+. My iPad2 is at 9.3.5 (latest update).Quote: djatcI always do professional editing on mspaint.
FWIW, my limited ability iPad2 was able to work with an app called Drawing Desk - thank you and the others for your tips!Quote: rsactuaryI would assume Photoshop.
I don't give up easily, so I will definitely try this MSPaint one more time. I'm thinking though, that my iPad2 is not really a "Windows" machine, but an Apple, right? It didn't come with MS Office, and I chose not to pay for it - instead, I downloaded the free (but more limited in function) Google Documents and Sheets - but thanks for the tip. Again, I'll give it a whirl!Quote: RomesIf you can get the image on your computer (email it to yourself perhaps), you can simply pull it open in Microsoft Paint aka MSPaint (free accessory automatically on every windows machine). From here you can just select blocks and black out faces (by painting over them), or erase things from the photo, etc.

That was somebody who used a filter to swirl the image instead of just covering it up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Paul_Neil
FWIW, we were both right. There's no MSPaint for an iPad (only MAC), but I searched and found . . there's a pretty darn good alternative called Paint98 for iPad. It functions quite similarly to MSPaint, but the app only shows in portrait mode - I do 100% of my "work" on iPad in landscape mode. I will keep Paint98, as it is really easy to use, but I'll lean towards using Drawing Desk, which is in landscape mode and reasonably intuitive . . . still need to make some editing on pictures/names pointed out by RS in my "Deconstructing a VP Tournament" post.Quote: LostWagesI don't give up easily, so I will definitely try this MSPaint one more time. But I appreciate your making me push my own envelope to reach out to discover and LEARN. Now, I have to apply this concept into ACTION as I slowly and carefully re-assess my BJ strategies, ramping, etc. for a 3rd trip (hoping for end of 2017, or whenever . . . ). I will prepare an "order of operations", and then post it for the more experienced BJ Mathletes to critique. Should be getting more mailers by May time frame and thereafter.
Finishing up my last TR, which I'll convert to a post called "A review of air and land transportation to/from/in Las Vegas".
Have a super weekend!
