Casino(s) in Maine

Now that Maine has one casino offer table games and another due in a few months there will soon be more options in NE. Went to Hollywood Casino in Bangor. They are experiencing growing pains after being opened for about a month. Deals cant quickly and accurately calculate BJ payout, they all deal slow. Place was packed with peo-ple two deep waiting for a seat to play and there were three unused tables, and they wouldn’t open up any of the additional ones.

It took me over an hour for a seat to open up, then had to deal with the above mentioned dealer foibles. At oen popint a player bet $45 and hit a BJ. The dealer didn't have enough toes, I guess, but everyoen at the tabvle had alreay calculated that the payout was $67.50 and tolds him several time, and he was stil messing with stacks of $5 to try top figure it out. And the Pit superviesors were no help eaither, they were too interested in their own conversations to be bothered.

Also, this is not a 24 Hr casino, They are opened liited hours each dat starting around 8am.

The folk inthe poker room (4 tables) seemed to be having fun and there was a steadty stream of open seats there, but I don't play poker.

I can check them off the list and add them to the been there, done that pile.

I recommend staying away from Hollywood Casino in Bangor, at least for another year until they work out the bugs.

if they have trouble handling a 3:2 payout, how do they handle craps or roulette
or a game with a commission (baccarat. pai gow, pai gow poker).
even a child could be taught to just count the chips.
$45 = 9 red chips. 3:2=9 red + 4.5 red = 13 red chips and 1 pink. done.
i would think a dealer who could only deal blackjack is going to have a boring job
and not be very useful to a casino.
