I have to wonder if everyone is getting the letter and if everyone understands it. If not, people are going to lose their points. There are many people who can accumulate 5,000 points rather quickly and I doubt they will welcome this change.
Maybe the buffoons that run this place find it exciting, but I don't think anyone else will.
Bookkeepers shouldn't run casinos.

Please clarify the 5000 max balance. What happens to points earned over 5000?
Thanks
I've known of high rollers getting new cars with their points. I wouldn't want to be the one to tell them they're shut off at 5,000 points.
reset to zero. That gave Ameristar just the opening they needed. Lots of Lodge players ( the core group ) would let point accumulate then bring Family or friends to the casino and treat the group. It took huge bad beat seed money and a new mangaer to get back to where they had been.
Sort of reminds me of when a Colorado casino gets a new manager and immediately he starts quoting reveneue per square foot, etc and out go some table games, in come more slots.
Quote: 1BBThat is a direct quote from the letter and it is not clear to me either. I have to wonder if the confusion is intentional. It sounds like the total stops at 5,000.

Is 5,000 points worth $5000? I'm making the harrah's conversion and seeing $50, but that's not even a dinner at some Foxwoods restaurants...

Once you hit the cap, additional points earned are lost. So if you're close, make sure you spend before you earn.
Also, that 5,000 cap is only for the lowest 3 tiers (there are 5 tiers). The 2nd tier (Ace) has a cap of 10,000, and the top tier (Royal) has a cap of 250,000.
This is not the first casino to set an expiration period for unused points. Usually it is after a period of inactivity which is typically one year. The difference here is that points expire 12 months from the time they were earned and it has nothing to do with the frequency of visits. If 10 points are earned today, they will expire 12 months from today. If 10 points are earned tomorrow, they will expire 12 months from tomorrow.
In my wife's case, there are a couple of hundred points that must be used by June 30th. We'll have a meal, see a show or get something for the house. If cash is preferred, Foxwoods will return up to 1,000 points to you for 50 cents on the dollar.
They're tightening up everywhere. Would you believe that all the blackjack in the High Limit room in the MGM Grand is now H17?
Believe it.

Any change in the high limit room in Foxwoods?
Quote: CrapsForeverDoes anyone know Caesars Total Rewards conversion from points to $. I have 2,000 points on my Caesars TR Card. How much is that in terms of real $?
$20
Quote: CrapsForever$20??? Wow, that sucks! At least they comped me a room for 2 nights at Caesars in AC later in May. Thx for the info!
Yeah, they're light on the reward credits, but liberal with the room comps. Other companies give more credits, but are tighter with the room comps. I'd say the value is close to netting out, but the Total Rewards method has the effect of highly promoting repeat trips by storing the value in free hotel stays.

They also promote return trips by wiping out ALL points if you don't earn at least one point every six months. I think that's extreme. Much more of my play is going other places as a result, but I have 90,000 points I need to spend.

Every 6 month rule is a bit extreme. I was surprised that the room comp doesn't require playing there. I'll be playing a little at Caesars Properties but I also heard a rumor of $3 Craps in another casino in AC. Definitely going to investigate that.....

However, unlike a lot of Vegas casinos, Caesars has properties all over the place, so it is a little easier to earn that one point if you are in a gambling market, as opposed to MGM or Station, where your properties are highly limited.
