" 2 To 1 Blackjack
• Jubilee always brings more to the table!
• Every Monday and Wednesday from
2:00pm to 6:00pm
• BJ's will pay 2-to-1 instead of 3-to-2*.
• See Pit for details
Some restrictions may apply. See Cashier's Cage for complete details."
I would assume they cap the betting at something small, since this results in a sizeable advantage for the player. Otherwise, I would be on the next flight down to Greenville!
Quote: teddysI was randomly surfing casino websites and saw this interesting promotion at Bayou Caddy's Casino in Greenville, MS:

I was just at that casino in late september. It's a pretty small, locals/casual tourist oriented, and I think the max was $200 (5/200). The city has a very cute downtown, and there's a lovely park between Bayou Caddy's and Lighthouse point. There's also a $10 signon bonus at each casino. Not that it wouldn't be worth it, but it's surrounded by some laughably expensive airports (Jackson, Monroe, Little Rock, Memphis). It'd probably almost make sense to fly to saint louis or new orleans and accept the additional drive time.
I lived in Jackson for six months, but never went to any of the MS River casinos, only the Native American Silver Star in Philadelphia. I did go to Greenville, and in fact have relatives there. Great town, with a great restaurant called Doe's Eat Place.Quote: rdw4potusI was just at that casino in late september. Quote: WizardSeveral years ago the Rampart casino by my house ran a 2-1 BJ promotion during Monday Night Football. $50 max bet, and I think you could play two hands. They cancelled it mid-game while I was sitting there, I think the 3rd or 4th week.
I remember that one! I went along too, and the Wizard's wife made a rare appearance to help out, so we could have as many people playing as possible. Ah, what nostalgia. As I recall we didn't win anything, or just had a very small win.
Its rarely worth hopping on the next plane for any casino offer particularly a small locals casino.Quote: teddysI would assume they cap the betting at something small, since this results in a sizeable advantage for the player. Otherwise, I would be on the next flight down to Greenville!

Well, they may have noticed your play in particular or it may have others as well who played it and some guy in green eyeshades (okay, some computer) printed out a notice. I doubt it was an alert pit boss.Quote: WizardSeveral years ago the Rampart casino by my house ran a 2-1 BJ promotion during Monday Night Football. $50 max bet, and I think you could play two hands. It would seem cancelling a promotion mid-game meant they were losing money at it.
I've only been to Greenville once, stopping by between visits to Tunica and Vicksburg, and I spent well under a day there. I think there is someone else on this forum who is from that area and posted some useful info, but I can't remember who it is.Quote: WinningWaysI'm traveling through Greenville soon...... is it the kind of town that one can see in a day or is it worth staying overnight?
I remember only three casinos, and one of them was a slots-only establishment. I played craps at Bayou Caddy's Jubilee and Harlow's. Sorry -- didn't play any blackjack, so I can't comment on the games there.
I didn't see anything that would make me want to spend the night. (Apologies to the locals.) If you are interested in plantation history, or even the history of floods, then maybe you would have more interest than I did.
I have a couple of friends who formerly lived in Greenville, and they are very much opposed to the casino industry there. They feel it did great harm to the local economy and population. I did not understand that perspective until I visited. My impression during that one brief visit was that the Greenville casinos are not designed to bring tourists or funds into the area but are set up to extract as much as possible from the locals to the owners. My friends say that Greenville is a prime example of areas where welfare and subsistence funds are gambled away to the detriment of children. Not at all like a resort casino where outsiders are getting their entertainment and bringing in money that pays for local jobs.
Spend welfare checks? Alot will be spent on alcohol and gambling whether there is a casino available or not. Lottery sales are highest in poor areas. More alcohol is sold in poor areas than in wealthy areas.

Total of 19 tables before adding in Poker? Is the total actually 23?
