Well, the headline is my way of pointing out that you will fine NO SHOES at BJ games in PA. Well, none at Rivers in Pittsburgh and just a few at Meadows Racino south of town. This is interesting as during class the talk was that there would be only shoe-dealt games. I guess the PA Gaming Folks bowed to the casinos wishes. Can a terrible 6:5 game be far behind?

Mohegan had mostly shoeless games, but they're now using shoes. FWIW.

Well, I asked point-blank if games would be shoe or auto-shuffle machines. I was told there would be a shuffle-machine but that PA was going to requiire games to be shoe-dealt.

To be fair, the table-game law was passed with a lot of "to be decided" gaming rules and those rules were changing daily during class-something that made for lots of confusion. For example, Big 6/8 was to be allowed during class, on opening day it was gone.

Mohegan had both for a while, and I guess no one played at the auto-shuffle tables. I asked about it the last trip there, as we sat and played at a shoe-dealt game, and the dealer said she didn't know anything about it. Seeing as how they also have the electronic tables, with the video dealers, I would think that players would prefer those to live auto-shuffle games; faster, no tipping, no "you stole my card!" etc.

I think most dealers just don't care about they "why." Hardly anyone in the "opening" class probably played the game three times before. Most were just looking for a job that paid well. The one I had Sat night must have been new. He still had "hard hands" and was very tentative. At the Monte Carlo Nights I deal smoother than this guy did. He was friendly enough, but I was suprised someone so green was working a Sat Night.

I thought you meant the craps players never backed up their dealer bets with odds.

Shoes are probably good for game protection and are of interest to regulators who view cheating as taking tax money that might otherwise go to pay the regulator's salaries.
