So I'm going to go to the Hustler Casino here in LA. As far as I remember the rules are similar to Vegas rules in regards to blackjack, and we have to pay $1 per hand to the "banker" or something like that. Anyway, with all else being the same, how do I calculate the house edge when you add in the extra $1 per hand I have to cough up?

I take that back. I may be going to the Commerce Casino instead. But that's probably beside the point.

Suppose your average bet is $25 per hand. The increase in house edge would be $1 divided by $25, which is 4%. If the house edge of their blackjack rules without the commission is 0.5%, for example, then you would be playing against a 4.5% house edge at that bet size.

Yeah, extra house edge is $1/wager x 100%. So CA blackjack is rough for small bettors.

Ok so an extra 1% if I'm betting $100 per hand at blackjack. What about if I'm playing Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em instead?

The edge of the game is the edge of the game- the one dollar that you are wagering is going to add 1 percent at 100 or 4 percent at 25 no matter what the game
