Sorry if this has been discussed before and I missed it - anybody know much about this? Found an online article where they are opening in Aug of this year.
Another Cherokee casino ( I like the one in Cherokee) - wonder if this will saturate the market - these 2 will not be very far apart.

RaleighCraps mentioned the new casino in this post as part of our discussion about a group meeting in Cherokee this weekend. He said he learned about it on the Cherokee web site, but I haven't found that link. In that other thread, we discussed the possibility that a new casino in Murphy might draw some of the Atlanta traffic and reduce the crowds at Cherokee, specifically opening up some room in the hotel and perhaps taking some pressure off table minimums, which could be good for the rest of us.
If you like the casino in Cherokee, check out that other thread and consider joining us this weekend.

Thanks! I make it up to Cherokee probably 4 times a year and really enjoy the casino.
Murphy will be about an hour closer to me so I will definitely be interested in it.
I cant make it this time but would definitely be interested in future trips - meet some of you guys and roll some bones!!

Thanks for the link. Now that I know the name of the casino-to-be, I can dig up more info. I found this article from eight months ago that projected an opening in summer 2015. I expect I'll check it out when it comes to pass.

Here's an article that came out about a month ago regarding progress on the new Harrah's casino in Murphy: http://www.wlos.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/new-casino-brings-jobs-murphy-21082.shtml.
They're now projecting an "early autumn" opening.
