You know they were required to have a Captain for that boat?
Buzz .... this is a world class casino ( okay Canadian world class)

downtown Windsor USED to see 10000 +++ 19-20 yr olds every weekend
Oh my imagine all the accidents made each weekend.Quote: coilman19 to drink and 19 to gamble

I prefer the Canadian side vs Detroit.
They had $ 5 black-jack - it was the hybrid kind where there is a dealer but you make your bets on a little I-pad type touch screen device built into the table. The neat thing is that the shoe has some kind of card recognition device, so when the card slides out, it automatically displays your card count on the screen.
We also drove down River Road to go on the Distillery tour but it was closed that day.
Quote: GWAEI stopped in here for the great race to rewards thing a few years ago.
Ditto.
Quote: GWAEI sat down at a machine and ordered a drink. I knew alcohol was not free so I ordered a non alcoholic strawberry daiquiri. They are free at every other CET casino that I have been to. The waitress came over and handed it to me, then asked for $5. I couldn't believe it was $5, I wonder how much it would have been with alcohol in it.
I really like the "self-serve" beverage stations at Caesars Windsor where you just walk-up and get a soft drink or coffee / tea. That is a nice feature. I think Motor City may have that across the river as well.

Well if you were to visit the OLD ART GALLERY land now you would want to bring your bathing suit and the kids( nieces/nephews) for a fun filled day..... the changes that have taken place in that area recently would amaze you

I have gotten spoiled by those at my local. I go to AC and have to wait for service, but free alcohol so I guess it evens out.
I even liked Windsor too. Huge selection of ethnic restaurants and groceries, and good shopping. University of Windsor has to be the most GRIM campus complex ever though. Go to a Spits game, they love their minor league hockey.
Self-service is fine, but if you're sitting at a machine, it means no service but maybe seeing a waitress once per 4+ hours. You know Rivers has bad habit of not even servicing the the self-service station late at night. One of those predatory gambling things where people decide wrongly to just keep playing until it gets fixed and it never does.Quote: GWAEI have gotten spoiled by those at my local. Quote: IbeatyouracesThere was a newspaper article a few weeks ago suggesting that one of the three Detroit casinos won't even survive.
Here is an article on the historic losses at Greektown and its new owner, http://www.freep.com/article/20140214/BUSINESS06/302140140/greektown-casino-losses
And this one has a quote about 1 of the 3 Detroit casino's not surviving, http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20140513/BIZ/305130117

I can remember those days. Why is it different now?
