I understand that.
I've read however that some if not all the casinos on the Colorado River in Laughlin do have large windows which allow for a panoramic view of the river.
My question, to those who have been there: is this true, and does the view in fact prove to be distracting?
Bonus question: do Laughlin casinos, unlike Las Vegas casinos, have water fountains or free self serve beverage stations for patrons?
Avi, which is only nominally "in Laughlin", is the only place in Clark County where I've seen self-serve beverages. And, they're one of the rare casinos who has Coke products on tap.
Reno is the best for scenery. If you don't like to watch the river from the casino, you can tune in the web cam and watch the river from wherever you are. Although these days those Reno web cams are likely to feature someone getting mugged outside.
Distractions in casinos are the loud music, the naked women, the general merriment, .... rarely a peaceful river. Some gamblers probably wouldn't notice the river was even there. Most men will chat with a woman on the next bar stool and not even notice things like rivers or aquariums or the like.

That could have been one of the better things about the Harrah's St. Louis buyout. Penn Gaming uses Coke.
Fitz in Tunica has a window too, but it's by the escalators, so it probably barely affects gaming at all.

It was a little distracting.

Revel in AC has plenty of windows with ocean views.

Practically every casino in Laughlin has windows with views of the river. It's actually a pretty nice view. As for whether it's distracting or not it never bothered me. There were no self serve beverage stations anywhere in Laughlin.
Quote: MrVAs with most casinos, the ones in Las Vegas take great pains not to allow patrons to view the outside world through large windows.
I understand that.

Laughlin; The view from the Riverside is great of the river. I won't say the view is distracting but seeing as how I drive there and home and don't like to stay I can tell from the craps table that the sun is going down and time for me to leave.
I haven't seen the river from the Aquarius but I'm not sure if it can be seen, same with the Bell. The Nugget has a good view of the river and the best odds on craps in Laughlin. A good view from Harrah's but not from where I play, The palms I don't know but parking sucks. The Tropicana is on the other side of the road and no river frontage. The one that was the Flamingo should have a good view but I don't play there so can't say. If you go a few miles from town there to the Avi, that is a great view and an easy walk to the river, very pretty. To segue onto another post of yours, the buffet there will stir fry on the spot teriyaki fresh for you on the spot.
I was wondering what had happened to you as well. I'd thought you were a Vegas resident, guess not.

The casinos in Laughlin have nothing to worry about, there is nothing else to do there and if you do go outside in the summer time you won't last but a few minutes, when the temperatures above 110°.
If you ever been to Vegas in the summertime, just imagine it 10 to 15° hotter in Laughlin!
Playing craps in Laughlin leaves a lot to be desired, most of the dealers are living in their own little world. It's like you playing in breaking houses.
I can't imagine too many casinos finding it helpful to post soda fountains on the floor as they will mostly get destroyed within a few days, have maintenance issues and be empty before 11AM.
It is a great idea though, works a treat in Korea.
Quote: AyecarumbaI don't recall there being a river view from the tables in the Avi Casino. The only view out would be from the glass doors in the main entrance, and that is on the opposite side of the building from the river.
You may not be able to see the river from the table games but they can bee seen pretty easy from the buffett tables, it is nice. White sandy beaches ,kept up view the hotties in the great pool on the casual walk to the river.
