10x Promotion
Anyone in the know on what their comp rates are?
I've been meaning to swing through and see if it's worth messing with... Any additional info would be appreciated.
Multiplier will be added within 10 days.
What does the 10 days have to do with anything unless you are only there for a few days.Quote: BuzzardThe devil is in the details. Imagine what the small print says ?

What's the best game in $1 or higher? or .25 10 play?
Most Tropicana properties don't have a countdown, each machines comp value is calculated on the machine theo. I'm sure someone has a rough estimate. 10k in probably gets you 45 in comps

I don't think you will find the fine print too restrictive. Their corporate policy is to grant you future discounts through your point balance and MAILERS and also EMAIL messages (IF you opt in to their email message program). Their corporate policy is not to add major comps on or about the day of play. Only later, gradually through their point system and Mailers. Some of their points, once awarded, will stay with your account as long as you add one measly point of play to keep them active.
The only thing their properties tend to add "immediately" are the things like Ten Points For Seniors to get a Breakfast/Lunch.
Or the Same Day PayBack awards.
But MOST of their "comps and other sweeteners" seem to be "future oriented". So don't think you will get Ten Times your points awarded to you that day. It will be time and mailer stuff. Though you can always check at a kiosk or online for your balance.
Their policy is perhaps aimed clearly at repeat visitors rather than one day hot shots, but it can still be a good comp system.
NOTE: This is from their Baton Rouge site.
our staus level is determined by the number of points you earn in a given six month period, either January 1 – June 30 or July 1 – December 31. When you reach enough points for Copper, Gold, Platinum or Black level, you’ll automatically be upgraded. Table players can earn Gold Status with as little as 30 hours of play (on a $25 table) or Platinum status with 80 hours of play (on a $50 table).
This is from their St. Louis web site:
When you play your favorite slot and table games at Lumière Place, you earn tier points and Trop Cash.
Tier points determine your tier level—Green, Copper, Gold, Platinum or Black.
Copper Card: Earn at least 2,000 tier points annually.
Gold Card: Earn at least 15,000 tier points annually.
Platinum Card: Earn at least 60,000 tier points annually.
Black Card: Earn at least 175,000 tier points annually.
Play today and earn your way to a one-year lease on a select luxury brand car/SUV of your choice, a yearly Princess® cruise and annual trips to The Venetian Palazzo in Las Vegas, Atlantic City or Lake Tahoe and much more!
Based on your play, you also earn Trop Cash, which can be used on your favorite slot or table games, for a delicious meal at one of our six convenient restaurants, to shop at one of our casino retail outlets, for hotel stays or even cash back.
SLOT PLAY: 1:1
DINING, SHOPPING AND HOTEL COMPS: 1:2
CASH BACK: 2:1
EXAMPLE: $10 Trop Cash = $10 slot play OR $20 for dining, shopping and hotel stays OR $5 cash back

I would say that's after the 10x. Otherwise, $5 is more likely.
I typically play ~1000 points in one session (10K coin in), $5 is what I usually get.

Assuming they haven't messed with the machines since Trop took over (I haven't been there in about a year), 9/6 DDB w/Quick Quads (99.65%) and 9/6 JoB w/QQ (99.61%) 3/5/10 play dollars.
When did this become a Tropicana casino? Have they, or will they, issue chips that say "Tropicana" and which I might want to add to my collection? (I already have one that says "Lumiere Place.") The MOGH chip guide does not show any new chips yet, but it also lists the casino as "a member of Pennacle Entertainment" and doesn't say "Tropicana" anywhere.
Whether you want a chip from there is up to you, but why not go for it. If nothing else, you can tell use what sort of Mailer you get a few weeks later?
Is "Lumiere Place" becoming the replacement name for all those casinos? I thought that perhaps Tropicana had acquired the former/present Lumiere Place in St. Louis and might be adding the Tropicana brand there. What's the real scoop?

I could be wrong, but I think flea is confused.
Lumiere place used to be owned by Pinnacle; however, Pinnacle bought ALL of the Ameristar casinos last year. This did not make the Missouri gaming commission happy as now Pinnacle would own 3 of 4 St Louis casinos on the Missouri side and forced Pinnacle to sell either Ameristar St. Charles (top grossing casino in the state) or lumiere place (worst grossing casino in St Louis on the MO side). Not being stupid, Pinnacle sold lumiere to tropicana for the bargain basement price of $260M in fairly short order.
I was never under the impression that any names, logos, etc. would be changing, however.
Are you checking the kiosk? perhaps the theo on the games your playing are set low. I have always been comped well at any Trop properties. I have not yet played at the one you are referring to so I can't say much about that one.Quote: pokerfaceI would say that's after the 10x. Otherwise, $5 is more likely.

I would talk to a host.
I make sure I talk to hosts in most casinos after I play, even if I don't have much play, unless im on something real good, in that case, I don't want anyone looking at my account. It does not hurt to ask. I know a few guys that just feel uncomfortable asking hosts for things (DJ for one). I swear they think they are asking a girl to dance or something. I seem to do well with hosts as far as getting comps, sometimes I'm even surprised. I love discretionary comps, I feel I got something for free.
Just the other day me and DJ played something in Vegas for a few hr's on a small promotion. I asked DJ to ask a host for a comp. He looked at me like I had two heads. He didn't think the host was even going to give us a comp to the snack bar. He asked me how he looked as he agreed to ask, but rolled his eyes, hemmed and hawed. He did it just to shut me up (I'm always barking at him about asking for comps), as it was a long wait for the host. Once the host arrived, the host was all over him like white on rice. I'm not sure what went on in that hosts office but, the Host said, anything you want( I BET ;). We got way more then we could use at a nice steak house and there is more waiting.
For video poker it's 1% of the optimal play return, so 10x is 10% of your theo with perfect strategy.
Quote: Zer0I agree, I say just go to Ameristar, if you had a reward card before pinnicle bought them out and had comps on it those comps will get doubled when you get your card swapped out. Whatever you do don't go to River City, it's probably the worst managed casino I have ever been to. If you want an awesome atmosphere and the best restaurants go to Ameristar, if you want a good place to just straight up gamble go to Hollywood, they'll send you awesome free play coupons if you play enough, and they have an auntie ann's pretzel stand at hollywood.
Really? I think River City is a nice place, just as nice as Ameristar. I have never really dealt with "management" at River City though. And all Ameristar comps converted to mycash at a 1:1 ratio making the comps double for food? That makes me happy! I would rather use comps at River City's beerhouse than use them at Ameristar. But I had all my comp money at Ameristar thanks to poker mainly.
