Foxwoods and Shoes for Tray Lizards

It seems all CWs at Foxwoods are required to wear shoes.

Foxwoods wants a two inch heel unless there is a doctor's note which would be valid for only one year.

Union argues its a ploy to keep younger women in the position of Cocktail Waitress and ease out older workers

Good. I like the term also as does one of my most favorite Stick Chicks though she might no longer be an expert on the matter having just recently retired from the high temperatures of Las Vegas and its casino life.
Paco is a stickler for facts and does not join in as to the term being so wide spread yet, but I plan to use it anyway.

I have no contempt for lounge lizards.

I think its generally recognized that a Tray Lizard is a humorous term, not one of contempt...they trek as fast as they can without spilling the drinks.

I should have made this thread a poll I guess.... no not really.

I just wonder though:

What do other players really think about cocktail waitresses being required to wear heels.

We all know women look better in heels but so what? Most of us want our drinks and don't care too much about the footwear that might be involved.

Heck, if I were a casino owner, I'd let the sweet young things wear whatever let them walk those miles the fastest, not the sexiest.

Minimum two inch heels for Tray Lizards? Who you going to hire to inspect shoe sizes. Bra inspectors could be somewhat easily recruited but shoe inspectors would only get weirdos.

I'd be more interested in if they were smiling and approaching customers and bringing the drinks quickly despite the nickname "lizard" than in whether they were wearing heels or nylons or whatever.

Couldn't agree more. Who's looking at their feet anyway...? :-)

I don't care what they wear, it might be an improvement if they put more of whatever they wear on, though. Maybe jeans and a T-Shirt with the casino's logo, something like that, tennis shoes.

I'm guessing there are elements we don't know. For example, whether there is a union involved. Or whether the women are on a model contract or something where it's legal to dictate those things. I'm guessing both. I'm guessing that, if the women get OSHA involved, given the amount of time they have to spend on their feet, it's a loser for Foxwoods. But it takes someone losing their job or risking it to take that kind of action. OTOH, there are a few women's shoes that claim to be both orthotic and heeled, like Easy Spirit, and it may be possible to find something that's not crippling but still fits the bill.

Heels suck, btw. I still have a few pairs, but OMG. Fine for showing legs, walking across a room or a restaurant. Very bad news for any distance, let alone a job that by definition involves walking the entire time.

I like the outfits at the palms. I'm all for high hills. or long back boots
