Mystic Lake Resort and Casino in Prior Lake, MN will begin serving alcohol in the coming days. They're going to phase sales in first in the restaurants, then on the casino floor, and finally on the golf course when it reopens next spring. Prior to this recent change of course, they had been among the largest completely dry casino properties in the US.
Mystic has had a liquor license for 20 years, but has never served alcohol. Their agreement with Canterbury Park (3 miles away) had always been that as long as Canterbury didn't push for a racino, Mystic wouldn't serve alcohol. Well, in the recent fight for funding for the new Vikings stadium, Canterbury pushed like HELL for a racino. They failed, but apparently Mystic is willing to take advantage of the situation and begin alcohol sales.
I'll be interested to see what happens to the steakhouse menu now. With no alcohol sales, it previously offered flavored waters and a variety of grape juices. I'd imagine that actual alcohol will supplant those items.

Sometime over the summer they reached an agreement that mystic gives canterbury around 10 million or so a year in return that canterbury does not pursue slots anymore. There are also lots of cross promotional stuff that was part of it aswell.
