Hello. Thanks for clicking.

I've been away from USA beef for a number of years. From Asia directly to Las Vegas.

Cost is not an object within reason.

I used to enjoy the steak house at the top of the Mint turned into Binions Horseshoe.

I used to get good prime rib at Caesars buffet in the sports book area.

I'm interested in starting my return with good steaks and prime rib. I'll pay but want it to be good and in or near the strip or downtown casino area. I don't want to go to a place like Ruth-Chris. Prefer something more as I say like the top of the Mint.

I'll be dining alone which hopefully explains why I get uncomfortable in a place like Ruth-Chris.

Thanks for any current up to date suggestions! Nok

The Steak House at Circus Circus is a good deal.

Good, old Vegas vibe, reasonable prices, and nicely-aged beef.

You have to swill through Circus Circus to get there but it's worth it. Once you're inside, you'll forget you're at CC.

I'm new here, and didn't have the pleasure of top of the mint, but if it's beef you want, the above will deliver.

Thanks. I may be staying at the Circus Circus! I see they have very reasonable room rates. My intent is to just get a reasonable clean room, rent a motorcycle, and look for something monthly. No point in asking about monthly deals, better to look around on your own. Nok

I echo the recommendation for the steak house at Binion's. It seems to have slipped a little since the ownership of the hotel changed, but it still has the "ratpack" vegas vibe (and a glass elevator even). Do go at sunset to get the best view, and definitely order the lobster bisque if you go there.

I've never been there due to the prices, but the Wizard recommended the Golden Steer in previous discussions. It is well reviewed.

I would not recommend the steak house at the Wynn. It is the exact opposite of what it appears you are looking for.

Enjoy!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Prime Rib at Circus Circus. Of course i may have been influenced by Shufflemaster picking
up the check LOL But honestly, it was very good.

What, somebody started a recent discussion about steak in Vegas and didn't mention Gordon Ramsay Steak (which just opened at the Paris)?

I was very pleasantly surprised by Riv, it is as good as places that charge 50% more. There is no prime rib there though, and I believe they are closed Mon and Tue.

I have a lot of comps at Binions from poker. Is the Binions steakhouse casual dress? I assume so with it being downtown, but did not want to be wrong.

I am a bit irritated they have yet to put a menu up on their site. I need to make sure there is something my wife will like before we try it out.

I think there is a request for collared shirts, but I never saw anyone turned away. There were plenty of folks in polos, and even shorts the times I've been there.

Edit: Their webpage indicates "Business Casual".

When I was in Vegas for a bachelor party last month, we ate at Lawyr's The Prime Rib, which is on Flamingo just east of Bally's. It was really, really good, but it is the only steak I have had in Vegas, so I don't know how the price compares. It was spendy for sure.

I stay at MGM, and have enjoyed a steak in two of their restaurants.

The Malabar pepper coated beef tenderloin at Joel Robuchon L'Atelier was delicious ;

The Filet Mignon at Seablue was excellent.

Haven't tried their steakhouse, Craftsteak yet.

I would have to second AcesAndEights' suggestion of going to Lawry's Prime Rib in Las Vegas. The food there is great, and I believe that the prices are reasonable for what you get. The only challenge is that it is off the main strip. If you have a car, or don't mind paying for a taxi, it is worthwhile.

My two cents as a local who eats on the strip way more than I should be-

Best in town if price isn't an issue- Mandalay Bay's (Michael Mina) StripSteak

Second best- the aforementioned Craftsteak at MGM

At StripSteak, start with the Foie Gras sliders, then get the Rib Cap and top it with a lobster tail. Add the mushroom side. Heaven on a plate.
Everyone's an expert.

The Wiz is correct. It's little pricey (for me), but the Golden Steer is very, very good. I have eaten there by myself but usually with wife/friends.
