And, yeah, I'm kinda posting info as if I'm coming (such as my alternate to the Wiz' hike: a Wimp Walk), but I'm not committed yet.
Quote: DJTeddyBearI'm not confirmed. I said I HOPE and will TRY to be there.
Ok. I made the correction.
Going to hit up any AZ or NM casinos?Quote: rdw4potusI'll be in Phoenix the week before the 12th, and in Albuquerque the week after the 12th. Right now, I can't think of a reason why I couldn't be in Vegas on the 12th. Count me as a "maybe."
Well, that's a stupid question. I should have asked, "how many?"

I've been to all of the AZ casinos, but I'll be entertaining customers in Phoenix. We're staying by the airport, so maybe Fort McDowell and 1 more? I hope to hit all of the NM casinos on my trip there (and maybe the 2 in southern CO as well).
I'm looking at it, and I think I really can/will visit every land-based or moored casino (with a blackjack table) in North America by the end of next year. Can't say I'm looking forward to the OK part of that. And I'm not sure how to handle ND - if a bar has charity blackjack, does it count?
Wow. You are quite far along. I've been to all the AZs except the Navajo one in Pinetop/Lakeside. Just curious, which one did you like best/worst? I did really well at Mazatzal in Payson and they also treated me really nice, so that was my favorite. Apache Gold in Globe was the worst, and quite possibly the worst casino I've been to ever.Quote: rdw4potusI've been to all of the AZ casinos, but I'll be entertaining customers in Phoenix.

Apache Gold is a crappy casino, but Hon-Dah in Pinetop is worse. The scenery getting there was breath-taking, but the casino was an amazing craphole.
I had a lot of fun at Cocopah, and had a big win at Ak-chin. I stayed at Ak-Chin when I was in AZ last fall, and I was very surprised how nice the hotel was.
Babylon 5-DS9 Crossover scene one:
Cmdr. Sisko: Welcome to Deep Space Nine.
Capt. Sheridan: Nine? Man, you people are freaking persistent!
Do all of the casino employees on the forum expect to be working mid-day on a Saturday? How about the other local lurkers?
Maybe they work the graveyard shift, and are planning on SLEEPING?Quote: DocDo all of the casino employees on the forum expect to be working mid-day on a Saturday? How about the other local lurkers?
Or maybe they don't know ahead of time which shift they work? If so, they may join last minute if they can...
What? No Warren Devon fans in the bunch?Quote: DJTeddyBearMaybe they work the graveyard shift, and are planning on SLEEPING?

Now that's the kind of response I was looking for!Quote: NicksGamingStuffI will go.
Jerry Logan, wouldn't that be a hoot.
Quote: buzzpaffAre you conessing as to your real idenity,
Nope. I just like using Jerry as a punching bag,
what else is he good for.
I think that particular joke has gotten old.
Jerry is long gone. Let it die already.
Quote: DJTeddyBearFor what it's worth, I think I was the first to notice a poll in the post-Jerry Logan era, that didn't have an "I'm Jerry Logan" choice.

Oh, but it points out how short the medium-term user generation is in forums like this. It's almost like talking about the Cold War with people born in ths 80s.
Anyway, who else is planning, hoping or merely wishing to come?
Quote: Nareedwho else is planning, hoping or merely wishing to come?
Its on my wish list. I got the time off of work. I plan on going to Vegas for the G2E in October. I just don't think there is enough money in my budget for 2 trips.

Oh, sorry to hear that. I was disappointed when I couldn't make it last year. I expect I'll miss HB's weigh-in, too. Alas, we must live in the real world <sigh>
You only need money for the first trip. Do that first trip right .... and you have your money for the second one!Quote: mipletI just don't think there is enough money in my budget for 2 trips.
Man, talk about positive thinking!Quote: FleaStiffYou only need money for the first trip. Do that first trip right .... and you have your money for the second one!

Obligatory joke:
DS9/B5 crossover scene 2:
Kira: What do you make of the Prophets, ambassador?
Kosh: Amateurs!
This late 90s humor is too dated, perhaps. I should work on light bulb jokes and such for The Big Bang Theory, or at least Stargate
How's this?
Q: How many Sheldons does it take to screw-in a light bulb?
A: Why would you change a light bulb? Change is never good. They tell you it is, but it's not.
I booked a flight this week on Southwest, will be arriving Thursday evening, and staying until Monday. I have a room booked at Rio (as of now), though I'm hoping to get bumped to at least Bally's. For the trip, I could only get either Rio or IP free, and I refuse to stay at IP. I have to work on getting a rental car if I'm staying at Rio, but that would give me an excuse to visit some of the other great casinos in the area (and collect my chips along the way).
See you in May!
Quote: TiltpoulI am happy to say that you can move me from the People who hope to make it to the CONFIRMED ATTENDEE!
Great!
The list has been edited.
Is anyone missing from the list at the start of the thread?
I've confirmed my vacation dates at the office. I'll book my trip next Monday at the latest. I'm half-looking still, but really my options are between booking the flight and hotel separately or together. I'm just giving it some time in case a really great deal suddenly comes along.
