There is a trade off between "perfect" protection and cost. Certainly everything can be made, "safer", if you are willing to pay for it.

Examples: Spending extra for personal security escorts; Adding airbags to your car; Paying more for a ticket to a stadium that installed high rails; Paying more for a Snell approved hemet vs. a DOT only one; Buying a carbon monoxide detector; Buying a screw to fix the loose rail on your porch.

To the nearest dollar, what is your "tipping point"? Where do you balk at the personal outlay to make yourself safer vs. doing nothing extra, or settling on a cheaper, but riskier, alternative? Note that this is just for your personal safety, not those of others, including your loved ones (which should probably be another poll, if I wasn't so lazy).
