This is a show airing on NBC on Friday nights. Not that what a stupid forum participant thinks matters in the grand scheme of things, but ...
* if you ever need a reality check on what it meant for slavery to exist in the USA
* if you ever doubted that the decisions you make affect your ancestors for generations
* if you ever doubted that bad decisions you make hurt people you never meet
* if you ever doubted that the decisions you make now affect the people around you
* if you've ever doubted that anything you accomplish is by standing on the shoulders of others
* if you ever doubted that you're IMPORTANT
... this is a good show to bring you back to reality.
Webisodes can be watched at the NBC website.
My $0.02.

I thought the episode with Kim Catrall, where she discovers her grandfather was a bigamist in the 1930's was very moving. She told her mother (above) what happened to him.

Indentured servants in the North usually fared worse than slaves in the South.
One Southerner sailed from Charleston to Boston and witnessed more whippings on the voyage than would have taken place on the plantation in years.
>if you ever doubted that the decisions you make affect your ancestors for generations
huh?

the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!” She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder
