He must have been going pretty fast. Early reports talked about a curving road. Looks pretty straight to me.
PS I wish ABC would have had a crash scene expert on instead of ESPN people. So after watching the report I know little about the accident but got a 5 minute summary of Tigers life.
So you think because he got lucky
and pulled a major out of his ass,
that equates to the Tiger that
played golf in the early 2000's?
Really? The money is meaningless
to him, it's his giant ego that needs
the crowd attention. He will play
the senior circuit.
I agree with everything.... except the ‘got lucky’ part. He was just the best that week. I think if healthy enough he will play the Senior majors, and any other events that he has ties with the sponsors. He’s not playing the Dick’s Sporting Goods open in Binghamton.
protruding through the skin near his foot.
They inserted rods and put it back together
but they had to cut muscle in his lower leg so
it would not put pressure on the injury. This
seems to me to be a bigger problem than
the broken leg, how will he ever get full
function back. Some golf experts his career
He'll be back in a couple of years if he can walk, but if he loses his driver's license for this accident, he'll need a full time chauffeur.
Driving is not his friend. First was
the 2003 accident that almost
ruined him. Then a DWI 3 years
ago, and now this. I would guess
he's not paying enough attention
when he drives. He was driving
angry yesterday and that's never
a good thing.
I don't want to speculate when I don't know all the details but at the news conference yesterday the police said there was no evidence of braking. No skid marks or anything. I guess this IS speculation but makes you wonder if he passed out or something.
My guess is that he was distracted and going off the road. When he realized he over corrected, hit the median, and then rolled it. There would be no braking in that scenario.
He doesn't deserve to. Nicklaus is the
classic golf superstar. Totally dedicated
to the game. He was the oldest player
to win the Masters, at 46. Tiger was
never a dedicated player, he was a
dedicated partier who played golf.
He had 13 good years until another
car accident started a chain of events
that almost ruined him. Tiger is a fluke,
he's doesn't even deserve to be on the
same list as The Golden Bear..
Anyone who has a particle of knowledge about golf knows he would have eclipsed Nicklaus including Nicklaus own prediction. As Jack said himself, “if he stayed healthy.” What do you mean by fluke? You don’t think he worked hard enough or long enough? Considering how young he started, I’d wager he spent more practice hours on the golf course than 99% of the other pros.

He was angry because people loading
luggage in front of him made him
wait to leave. They say he left the
hotel at a high rate of speed. He
was speeding on the highway and
lost control. He'll be able to join
the senior tour in 2025 when he
turns 50. It will take him that long
to fully recover from this. Nicklaus
joined when he was 50 and did
quite well there.
