This thread is strictly for the discussion of firearm ownership for hobby, sport, and self defense purposes. To remain compliant with forum rules, absolutely no discussion of gun control, law, policy, or anything else remotely political.

I’ve always enjoyed shooting with friends, but never pulled the trigger (heh) on making a purchase for myself.

That recently changed with my purchase of a S&W SD9

Why the SD9? Well for starters, I bought at the height of the recent buying panic and I could not find a Glock in stock anywhere. But also, the SD9 is a near carbon copy of the Glock and about $200 cheaper. So much so that Glock sued S&W over the design and won.

I’m excited to get on the range when things open back up and try it out. I hope I end up liking it. The major complaints in reviews seems to be the very heavy 8-10lb trigger.

Please discuss, and share what you own or are thinking about purchasing in this thread!

At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.
