It will be substantially less than $125 based on reports of number of people that filed. I think this is an attempt to weed out people so the settlement per person can be increased.

Yeah I know.

The point is, Id have no problem lying to the FTC for $1.25

Yes, I clicked the box.

I lied because I want that $125.

$125 is DEFINITELY worth lying to the FTC for.

I don't care what you do or don't dislike.

I know you don't care what I think and rightly you shouldn't. I judge people by how they conduct themselves and someone lying to get a small amount of money is just a sign of bad character to me. People of poor character are just not the people I want to associate with. Again, this is not necessarily directed at you.

Besides, those lying about it are only hurting those that were actually damaged. Very selfish.

The second statement cannot be true if the credit monitoring has equal or greater value to the $125, as they claim. According to the settlement, youre either in the affected class or youre not.

In 2015 there was a class action suit brought against Starkist for under filling cans of tuna:
Hendricks v Starkist Co.
Quote:

The settlement provides that StarKist will pay $8 million in cash and $4 million in vouchers redeemable for StarKist tuna products. You may submit a claim for either (a) a cash payment of $25, or (b) $50 in product vouchers redeemable for StarKist tuna products. You may choose to claim the cash payment or the product vouchers, whichever you prefer. These claim amounts may be subject to pro rata dilution if the total amount of claims exceeds the available settlement funds.

I submitted a claim and requested the $50 product voucher option.

Today I received my voucher and it was worth: drum roll --

$5.03

I'm sure the lawyers who brought the suit are laughing all the way to the bank.

I got that updated Equifax email a few weeks ago. I went to go "amend" my claim and it asked for a claim number or something. I never got a claim number so I just said screw it. I'm done jumping through hoops for these idiots so I can claim $.82 or whatever they end up sending out to people (zero chance anyone is getting $125, so you can stop holding your breath, guys).

Hopefully some of us die from Round-Up weed killer. Our estates will probably get at least $1000.

Class actions are a joke. I was a manager at a national company. We worked 60 hours a week mandatory as salary. Class action was filed, spent 4 years doing depos and completing essay like statements. They were suing for overtime pay at 5x pay for labor violations. Looked like it was going to be a huge pay day. Later find out that in Pennsylavnia our new hire paperwork says we are not allowed to sue and the case was settled for a pittance for us PA people and the case carried on for rest of the country. I was sent a check for $85. I never cashed it by accident and now it is expired.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed. I AM NOT PART OF GWAE RADIO SHOW
