Over the last two years, "fast food" seems to no longer be fast, and it's certainly not cheap. Hopefully diners and food trucks apply some competitive pressure in the market segment.
Quote: DieterI remember a lyric from 1990 where a guy complained about New Yorkers paying "over $2.50 for a Big Mac".

Inflation is a real money killer. I remember Customers saying that when they first smoked in the 1970's, a pack of cigarettes was about .50 and when it went up to about .63 in the 1980's, they said they were going to quit. Now, cigarettes cost about 13 for ONE pack! 🥶😵💫
Quote: ChumpChangeSaw a meme yesterday that a Big Mac was 50 cents in 1980 and now it's $8 and 40% smaller, IT'S SMALLER! So where are those buy one get one free coupons that used to be floating around? I don't get the newspaper anymore and the McD's app locked me out because I got banned from Facebook.

You are way low on that. I believe a Big Mac was over $1 by 1980. It was $0.40 in the 60s.
Quote: ChumpChangeI bought almost 50 candy bars for about $50+tax this week, and they would have been $5 out of a candy machine in 1970. Just sayin', 90% drop in the value of money just for deep discount regular priced candy bars at WalMart. I'm sure the candy machines on the interstate charge more than $2/bar.

Well instead of candy you should have put $50 into big mo stock and reinvested the dividends. Don’t look at what it would be worth now you’ll be sick.

Not really. I did a quick run to Google and MO stock is only about $43 a share. Chump Change would have LOST about $10.50 if he bought a $53.50 hare. 💡 Chump Change bought almost 50 candy bars for $53.50. He could have sold the candy for $2 each.💡Let's say he bought 48 candy bars. He could have sold the 48 bars at $2 each, and get $96, or about $42.50 in profit. 😀

Whoa whoa whoa, what’s all this false “claiming he’s raising a fundraiser or something like that” talk. So that you can sell some candy bars? SMH, Next thing you’ll be suggesting he claim to be a veteran “or something like that.”

Check again for return on MO since 1970. You numbers seem off. And don’t forget dividend reinvestment.

I edited my post. The fundraiser thing I said was a hypothetical and impulsive thing I said on the fly when I was sleep deprived, and I "deleted," it after I got some sleep. 💡

onlyfans or gofundme are more lucrative anyways. Tell them it’s for student loans or medical bills and such.

People are actually less likely to donate to GoFundMe because of recent scams like the kind hearted Homeless Veteran scam where a Woman named Katelyn claimed that a Homeless Veteran named Johnny gave her $20 when she ran out of gas and she and her boyfriend wanted to "thank him," for his help and they put up a GoFundme that raised about $400,000. The boyfriend and girlfriend stole Johnny's cut of his money and took it to gamble in at least one Casino, a big no no, and went on vacations and she bought herself luxury purses. Two more no nos. Johnny admitted that the whole thing was a scam after he realized they stole his cut of the money. The three of them ended up in the legal system. I think Johnny got like three years probation, she was sentenced to two years behind bars, and her boyfriend, the ringleader was sentenced to like five years behind bars IIRC.
At least with Onlyfans, Donators know exactly what they are donating too and aren't being scammed into donating. 💡

I would classify GoFundMe as a donation, and OnlyFans as a purchase.
Many GFM things I classify as ….. ‘I didn’t prepare properly so just give me money. Thanks’.

Maybe I should have said something like,"With Onlyfans, at least people know exactly what they are BUYING, and aren't being tricked into donating money." 💡

Quote: NathanWould you rather get a REALLY big paycheck and then never get paid again, or would you rather get steady little paychecks? 🤔A Reporter said that a certain celebrity couple were stunning on Camera, a real powerhouse, dynamic couple, but behind the scenes was a completely different story. The Wife was extremely bossy, rude, demeaning, berating , controlling, overbearing , demanding, etc to her Husband, a REAL nasty jerk while The Husbands was REALLY sweet and nice to her. The Couple's Publicist warned her something like,"If you publish how the Wife REALLY is, you'll get a VERY big paycheck, but you'll NEVER work again. You can either get ONE big paycheck by publishing how the wife REALLY is, or get or get steady smaller paychecks by keeping your mouth shut. Your choice. The Reporter decided she'd rather keep working than get one REALLY big paycheck and NEVER work again, so she didn't publish how the Wife REALLY was. What would you do in her situation? It depends on the size of the one big paycheck compared to the cummulative value of the smaller paychecks over time...

This really happened? Source, because "a real powerhouse, dynamic couple, but behind the scenes was a completely different story" sounds like you are quoting something. A real source, or some third hand hearsay.
The reporter was paid regularly to not publish her story?

That one big PAYcheck would be more than halved by local, state, fed, SS, and Medicare taxes. They would be lucky to receive35%+ spendable. A really bad choice.
