It seems like a few years ago (5 maybe more?), people started switching from saying "Merry Christmas" to saying "Happy Holidays" to be politically correct or not offensive or whatever reason. But, whatever. It seems like a huge majority of people would say "Happy Holidays" to each other.

Just this year, it seems like almost everyone is saying "Merry Christmas" to each other. Even in situations where it you wouldn't expect. Like pit bosses / supervisors saying Merry Christmas to players. Players saying it to each other or to the dealers / pit personnel. Even my holiday bonus check said "Merry Christmas" on it.

I say "Merry Christmas" as it is Christmas, not "holiday."

I will accept a "Happy Holidays" same as a "Happy Hanukkah" but the person will get a "Merry Christmas" in return.

Merry Christmas is more of a code work meaning happy holidays. Makes no sence to change the tradition.

I'm fairly certain Merry Christmas is code for... this will be your last check.

If its someone I don't talk to often or don't know well, its Happy Holidays.

Friends and family, its Merry Christmas, never Happy Holidays.

If its well before Christmas, or I suspect Ill not see or talk to them before christmas and after NYE, its Happy Holidays.

Happy Holidays is less personable.

Sorry for the weather, terapined. It's cold (and windy) here by our standards. Probably just like Christmas weather you left back home. Unfortunately, it looks to be cold (high in the mid 50's) for the next week. :(

If I don't have confidence that "merry Christmas" will be received in the spirit that it is given, then I say nothing

It's Xmas day and a car goes by my house every
15 sec or so. Nothing is open except movie
theaters and Chinese restaurants. Where the hell
is everybody going. I never go anywhere, where
is there to go.

I tend to only say Merry Christmas with people I know have a Christian background... Which is the mass majority of people I regularly see. The only thing that would bug me is Kwanzaa. That's just a silly farce of a holiday.
