I clicked on this thinking the Wizard had invented a new game but, alas, it is some sort of role-playing dodgeball game a la dungeons and dragons

Will people play a board game/bored game anymore?

I was at gold spike yesterday. Its not a casino anymore. More like an adult playground. They had a giant jenga game, foursquare, and a giant chess/checkerboard, and a game that resembled beer pong with trashcans instead of cups.

Yes. Board games are a thriving, but niche industry. There is certainly mileage in the boardgame cafes around Canada, at least.

Tough market to get into, but your more likely to make it here than in casino game design.
"Then you can admire the real gambler, who has neither eaten, slept, thought nor lived, he has so smarted under the scourge of his martingale, so suffered on the rack of his desire for a coup at trente-et-quarante" - Honore de Balzac, 1829
