Thank you.
Not really my business, but just in case you need/want to prod someone, here is the list I gleaned from an earlier thread:
Plan to come: Wizard, DRich, AcesAndEights, rdw4potus, Nareed, djatc, Doc & Mrs., rudeboyoi, beachbumbabs, SOOPOO
Maybe: ahiromu, Konbu
Of course, people may change their minds and/or may not want to commit.
Quote: DocMy wife and I will be there. Do you want to keep track of this by editing your first post of this thread?
I'm way too lazy for that ;) But I'll post a definite list before I leave for Vegas.

I kind of gleaned that, too, but I want to make sure. Also the Con could use some promotion now, while there's still time for people to make arrangements.

Or be travelling anonymoulsy, too ;)
Quote: NareedAs far as I know there is no official name/number for this year's edition.
The name is the "2014 Wizard of Vegas Spring Fling." The fall meeting shall be the "2014 Wizard of Vegas Fall Classic."

Check your tires ;)

So WoVCon Quattro "2014 Wizard of Vegas Spring Fling." (This Time It's Personal!)? ;)
Somewhere between the fall of the Western Roman Empire and the Middle Ages, bathing was seen as unhealthy, as it "opened the pores" and let disease in. Europe became a lousy continent, literally.

How can we get more info on the real date Spring Fling) and location?
This thread announced the decision on the location of the "main event" and discussed some potential other activities.

Thanks Doc !
Quote: FrGambleThis might be my year to come because it is in that week right after Easter which is usually a good time for me to take off. Any body know of any good retreat like places I could go to early in the week?
I so hope you come. Seeing you with all us heathens.....!!!!!

I very much hope you can make it.

I would love to see you come, Padre! If your idea is a retreat is outdoorsy activities I'd be happy to take you on some. It will be good for the body and soul.
If I can survive this week (you don't want to know), I shall be busy with preparations for the next few weeks.
Quote: Nareed... I shall be busy with preparations for the next few weeks.
I have booked my flights and hotel rooms. That's about all the preparation I have in mind until time to pack my bags the night before departure.
(OK, OK, so I'm nerdy enough that I keep a travel checklist on my computer -- things to take and things to do before departing. A couple of those require action a day or two before packing the bags -- visit the ATM, arrange for pet care, etc.)
Quote: DocI have booked my flights and hotel rooms.
So did I. That was the easy part.
Quote:That's about all the preparation I have in mind until time to pack my bags the night before departure.
Well, I need about two days to pack. Packing on the return trip is faster, as I don't have to decide what to bring back. Also I need to change money, make sure all my bills for the month are paid before I leave (or can wait til I return), use up any perishables in the fridge, freeze what cannot be used up, give away what cannot be used up or forzen, do the laundry, pick up the dry cleaning, finish all the work I must finish, pass the work I can't finish to someone willing to take it, little things like that ;)
It doens't seem like that much, but interspersed with the normal 10-hour day (on good days), things tend to add up.
Factoid of the day: Bathrooms were not usually found in houses until well into the XIX Century. Although "water closets" were common in the more well-to-do homes. In fact, the first buildings to feature bathrooms were hotels.
People in the Paleolithic era were prey as much as predators, scavengers as much as hunters, endured disease and pain without even a palliative (though not without care), were at the mercy of the weather and of animals at all times.
In short, they were more like animals than people, though they were very much people (otherwsie we'd still be living that way, and who would be posting on this thread?)
Quote: SOOPOOSooPoo will be coming... sort of.... SooPoo is my ex-wife, still on good terms.... she is a world class hiker, mountain climber, rock climber, etc.... She would like to join the Wizard and those who will be doing the hike in Red Rock.... Will someone remind me of the details of said hike? I will be there for the gambling and meal get-together, but after I chickened out with Mike and his son last attempt, I see no reason to fail again....
The current plan for the hike is Sunday morning, but it hasn't been set in stone yet. I believe I'm the only one confirmed, but djatc has been making noises about joining the fun. Would love for the real SooPoo to come along as well!
We should probably check in with the Wiz and get that time locked down. My offer of giving rides from the strip still stands, but I haven't reserved a rental car yet.
("Will the real Slim Shady please stand up" stuck in my head now, haha.)

The real SooPoo will have her own rental car. Looking forward to seeing you again in Vegas, Aces!
