I just got 2 bets with Tomspur on Yankees. $10 each and $20 in total.
The an idea comes up. Can Wizard become a clearing center for bets among members. I mean small bets, less than $100,.

Unofficially, sure. but the slope is slippery. He can't make or appear to be making book.

Wouldn't that be a violation of the Wire Act?

He's already busier than a cat on linoleum. I can't really see him doing it wholesale (as opposed to offering on occasion, as he has), but I'm not him.

Legality issues aside, I'm running very busy and don't to fuss holding money for $10 bets.

I'm not sure that matters if he transmits information regarding sports bets via an interstate wire facility. Would you argue that acting as a clearinghouse for sports wagers was not "engaging in the business of betting"?

Seriously? For 10 bucks why would you want ANYONE to do this, let alone someone that's considerably busy? While your at why don't you ask the president to mow your lawn.

If it stops him from trying to get more crazy legislation through, that would be great.

See if you can think up anymore mundane, unprofitable tasks for the Wizard. Once he gets past the exhilaration of clearing $10 bets, maybe he can start picking up WOV members dry cleaning.

I don't do dry cleaning but if he could drop my car to get it's spring detail and pick me up a case of Pepsi Throwback that would be great.......

Seriously, most bets on this site should be "on your honor." There was a site called "Betcha" that worked on the same system. Most members here know who is who and have and idea who would pay. This is how real men used to conduct things. A welcher will soon find no action.
