I'd say that if less people come to gamble, then logically the slot revenue goes up. That is, less experienced gamblers will go to the easiest games to play.

Several Casinos that promoted their convention centers have found that not to be true. Some people just walk past all that temptation.

See what happens when I don't use smileys?

Seriously, I can't get my head around people who come to Vegas and don't gamble at all.

The trend is huge that many are coming just for the night clubs and pools. We are getting tons of the 21 to 28 age group that are willing to pay expensive prices for room, food, and beverage but not gamble. It is amazing how many nightclubs there are in Vegas now.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I spent 17 days there without gambling much. I think I gambled as much as I would have, monetarily, in a five-day trip, but more spread out and for lower stakes. The rest of the time I went sight-seeing and shopping. I found it's very relaxing not to have any time pressures at all.

One of the older salespeople where I used to work spent 4 days with his wife at Mohegan Sun without gambling a dime.

At least in Vegas, there are a lot more other things to do....

Sweet young thing over heard at poolside: Black Jack? Is that a night club or a day club?

Doin' what?
Back in the old days ALL Las Vegas specials and coupons were emblazoned "No Darned Locals" to deter freeloaders. Many people loved five and ten dollar hotel rooms and all the Vegas freebie-type stuff but never gambled.

Just as lots of freeloaders used to go to Ski Resorts but never buy any lift tickets so they could do any skiing. All those apres-ski parties, cheap dinners, cheap hotel rooms, etc... but they never paid the all inclusive lift tickets.

Health spas are often the same. They charge for the procedures but if you never schedule any, you've had fairly cheap rooms and lots of free recreation but didn't even pay for the Kitty Litter Rubdown that is the cheapest procedure. Ooops I mean "Dermal Abrasion Rejuvenation".

Doin' what?

Spa. Shopping. Sitting in the various bars.

But they certainly weren't freeloading. They paid the full rate for thier room.
