Oh, I'm sure there was more to that appearance and he surely actually campaigned for Obama (sure he did). But if that bit isn't run all over the Romney campaign, then he deserves to lose.

Perfect sound bite. I'm sure it's taken out of context, I'm sure if you gave him another 30 seconds it would sound differently, but in the age of the 30 second commercial it doesn't matter.

...how is that remotely damaging? How is it any different from what Obama himself has been saying?

Did you see the story of Paul Ryan barging into a soup kitchen with his family
to stage a photo op of him washing pots (that were already clean)?
