Post here or PM me or Zuga if you're interested. If we're both still interested after a little screening we'll arrange an introduction to Josh, the big boss.

I tried that once (yes I was counting but the count wasn't right for it) to run off a couple of annoying Albanian women. We all ended up winning and it didn't work :-/

not anymore. business is really bad
Quote: jjjooogggIn that case. Can i get by without speaking chinese?
English is not widely spoken. In the nice hotels the key front line employees will probably speak English but that is about it. Don't expect to hear it from dealers or other players.
On another topic, I think the best advantage play in Macau is poker. The Chinese play very fast and loose. When I was last there it seemed a lot of strong Australian players were quietly making the most of it. I don't know how true that is any longer.

Oh i think you can reasonably get through your day without knowing chinese. you should be able to order meals and buy stuff. most people can handle that. just don't try to discuss Shakespeare with the locals selling beef jerky.
and about the poker scene, you are correct The Chinese play very fast and loose, but about making a living off them, I think it's a bit hard now because lots of professionals are just trying to do that. competition is tough.

Quote: jjjooogggAre the chinese worried about APs like most casinos?
well they do use CSM's
in this day and age of the internet, and since about half of the casinos in macao are from the states, it is quite improbable that they don't know something about APs
blackjack: csm everywhere.
baccarrat dragon 7: only 58 hands about.
my name is Tom. 40 years old. chinese, speaking english, living in shenzhen-border of macao.
i know maths, the casinos in Macao, i know the games. i know writing and designing websites,( i did many of them before)...
the most important, i am interested, and i have time.
email me: 137139656@163.com.
i guess i will also email to this: Wizard of Odds<(redacted by admin)>

Maybe. You write English like a foreigner,
is your caps key broken? If this is typically
how you write, it's almost unreadable.
For a gambling site you should be able to ask for combat pay!
you the same?
by the way, just now, i saw wofmacao is renewed. it should happen some hours ago.
before it is fast. now it takes more than 30 seconds to load the mainpage, inside, even stucks.

I realize I am slower than many of the shining stars here, but still.....
I am going to have a really hard time following Macao articles written by Tom or Ken Try...
1BB is out of work, can he apply?
Quote: odiousgambitA good test for Tomchina will be whether he can take old curmudgeons coming along and sniping at his work.

in Chinese, we have our ways to test foreigner's chinese. the same from it?
by the way, the w of vegas is slow, it takes me more than 5 minutes to put in words here. if i have to say sth here, i shouldn't have waited for it.
in another way, it is good at least it is not blocked.
by the 2 posts above, i did another thinking, for writer of possibly-targeted community, my english shouldn't be ok enough.
anyway, i will visit it.

i did a bold guess. i will like Ken's articles.
he will show me where there is dragon 7 of baccarrat, dealing more than 60 hands for a shoe. also if the rules of blackjack are the same in Macao, except if the surrender is allowed to his turn. also i extremely want to know how the 'credit card point¡® works in different casinos, what is the minimum bet in -'manual computer play'in all different casinos.., i don't know the term, it is a trend in macao. ... a lot of info. i wait for the site.
In other words, articles on the best Betting Systems of Macau would not be well received
You also need an editor
it seems 'i am begging'.
and i cannot deal with the prejudice from my old posts and for now.
i don't know why you mention the betting systems, maybe you saw my thread on this? why betting systems of Macao?
if you have right to judge if well received or not, i, also, your comment.
now that if i need an editor is none of your business.

Dear Tom
I cannot speak for the forum, much less for the Wizard.
I have enjoyed reading your questions, and summations of your observations on several different related subjects here on the Forums. Very thought provoking. Very interesting. You got to have a 'thick skin' to hang out here. I believe that OG already stated that. You might be an acceptable candidate for the Wiz's Macao position, you might not. Either way, I appreciate your contributions here in the past, keep contributing. You are a breath of fresh air here. If that does not translate well, how do I say? Keep posting Tomchina123. I will read whatever you post, I will be better for having read it.
that is the way working for forum. i like your answer. and welcome to Macao, China, if you have time.
and i should have said, 'few' for last post.
here is another info which is useful for w of macao:
http://www.dicj.gov.mo/web/en/frontpage/index.html
from macao government, very official.
there are info on all casinos, all websites, all games, and revenue...
no matter what, i like wizard who will update the macao site, then i will get a lot of info i need for my visit.

tomchina,
Your English is better than anybody else's Chinese on here (Mandarin, Cantonese, pick your dialect). You are understandable, though not fluent with sentence structure and grammar. An editor can make that transition for you, taking your information and reports and polishing them for the audience, without changing the meaning or authorship. I've edited for several people on here, including Mission146 and the Wizard on occasion; there's no stigma attached.
It's a paid position for doing something you're doing anyway. It's not up to me who gets hired, but I think it would be foolish for you to withdraw from consideration just because a couple people gave you a hard time about posts here (though not nearly as hard a time as they give Axel, and for good reason! lol). If you're interested in doing it, ignore them. If you've changed your mind about doing it, your choice.

I did not try to read anything you have submitted here previously

I don't mean to be insulting. Perhaps in China, to need an editor is an insult; not here. As a matter of fact I would like to have one sometimes, I misspelled Macau in the post you are replying to. Without some help on your posts, though, it is my business ... if you expect me to read what you produce.
[some edits][as a matter of fact!]

this is well received. and thanks for your recognition and kind words.
What are your thoughts on the recent campaign in your country to execute corrupt public officials who used misappropriated public monies to play a bit of "Monkey, monkey?"
Follow up question: what means of execution would you employ if you were in charge?
Thanks!

it is "gong, gong", like "picture, picture".in blackjack, 'gong' in chinese has other meanings: husband, fair, eunuch...
coming to the questions:
1) goodness:it will frighten followers and it makes a fair society.
2) badness: it will make no-action Civil servants.
if i were in charge...wow, this is a good question of foreign. most chinese shouldn't think in this way...if i were, i would do the same. i need to do what is needed what i were in that position.
by the way, chinese people are hard working and kind-hearted though we have many bad points.

Is this a screening test or are you genuinely looking for answers?
Corruption is basically everywhere, especially if you are government officials of any kind, big or small. It's almost impossible to be clean, because you would look like an odd ball, or even worse, a whistle blower.
Given that, a charge against someone for corruption is clearly and simply just a tactic to take down political enemies.
Follow up question: what means of execution would you employ if you were in charge?
There were lots of "innovative ideas" about executing your enemies during the Cultural Revolution. You may want to take a look if you are really interested in these stuffs.
The Chinese have always fascinated yet baffled me.

no offense, but this just shows that tom's understanding of the English language is a little bit short of being native, at least from the point of being a writer.
Quote: MrVIt was a bit of "screening test," but mostly a real couple of questions.

i agree. there are always differences. if in gambling, chinese thinks the only way to win is to stop the loss and follow the trend. westerners, maths. that is the reason i always come to this site to read.
if i can comment the ways, both are right. i did many waving charts to indicate loss and winnings, it is just right to stop the loss. the losing streak can be as long as more than 10,000 hands even the house edge is -. for following the trend, the tests i did is in terrifying quantity. the result is that it is more important than maths when it is in period of less than 10,000 hands... or even by maths, don't go against the trend. i may start a thread to show my study on randomness there are many other rules besides of the simple law of big numbers.
for maths, like in blackjack and dragon 7 of barccarat, i tested many. they are working for sure.

ok. it is another comment on my english, besides unreadable and editor-wanted. i should receive it if some are not accepted.
but i know what is in Macao like: the resplit of A, stacks, live shows of sex(they are not chinese), where there is EZ baccarrat, where on the first floor there are high rollers-1 million hk dollar per bet on baccarat, where there is texas holdem, what is the minumum for blackjack(200, 300, 500 hk dollars). how much an ok hotel costs(like USD100), and how to get free meal by credit point, also where has the shortest queque to cross the border...
are these important?
Quote: MrVIf you really want to make a good impression on the Wiz, try to focus on trivia, hiking, and competitive eating. ;-]

He's kind of teasing both you and the Wizard by saying this about eating and such. The things you mentioned in your earlier post are important indeed, when considering WoM content.
The Wiz does seem to be interested in the three things I mentioned.
Oh, he likes pretty ladies, too. :-)
Good luck, and please keep posting: I consider your perspective on gambling in Macao a welcome addition to the board.
