Maybe they can't figure out how to hot seat a BJ player, by why the hell do I need to talk to a Table games supervisor to
find out the " complete details " ???
Quote: odiousgambitIf I joined a Player's Club type thing I would expect to get mailers and email, no problem. But phone calls would send me through the roof. In fact I fear this, and getting my information sold to others who would do it, so I never have joined such.
They could make "live" calls but won't because that is expensive and has a pretty limited return. New FTC regulations that went into effect on 2008 prohibit prerecorded calls to a consumer unless that consumer has given "express permission" to receive the calls.
FTC Issues Final Telemarketing Sales Rule Amendments Regarding Prerecorded Calls
The Grand Victoria used to call me with prerecorded solicitations a few years ago until new FTC regulations went into effect at which point they tried to get me to opt-in, which I didn't do, and I no longer get any calls from them.
If you are worried about the Mohegan Sun players club their privacy policy is located here and states:
"In addition to the information collected online, patrons may sign up to become a Player's Club member upon visiting Mohegan Sun. All personal information collected at any Player's Club booth including name, address, phone number and email address is placed in a database that is not shared or sold with any third party."
I believe you will find that pretty standard for most casino's.

There is probably a requirement for minimum action, as well as the need to time stamp you in and out. Someone has to do this manually at the table.
Would a player's club reader, like the ones on the slot machines work for a BJ table? Each position would have it's own reader, or there could be one machine that the dealer could use to swipe the card and put in the seat position... Tracking action would be trickier, but at least you could get more data points than the pit boss make estimates of stack sizes and average bets every half hour.

I am sure that can indeed be done. But casino's seem reluctant, to put it mildly, to invest in any redesign or added
improvements to BJ tables. Even how chips are brought to the table, the entire refill system, is akin to Red Skelton's
coin changer in The Good Humor Man . Please don't ask me who Red Skelton was. I already feel old enough.
As old as Gertrude and Heathcliff.
Many casinos DO have such a system - in the poker room. But there are other reasons it's there and not elsewhere.Quote: AyecarumbaWould a player's club reader, like the ones on the slot machines work for a BJ table? Using the system makes it easier to handle the wait queue. Plus, there is no need to track action. Andit helps show who is eligible to share in bad beats, etc.

Here in Colorado a players card is used to log you in to page you. And once a table is available it is used to track you in and out. Why is the need greater to track action in poker versus BJ ? Average drop not that much greater in poker. Isle in Blackhawk
promoting their state of art poker room to open April 12. Bad beats here handled ok and any disputes can also be verified by eye
in the sky ??
Just a random idea. Is there a bigger sucker bet in the casino than Bab Beat in poker, an involuntary rake for all poker
players?

I am so lost !!~

It would be hard to find, but then I did see the same table hit it twice within 30 minutes, on a double jackpot hour even.
As I stated, there is NO need to track action in poker. That's WHY it can be used by dealers.Quote: buzzpaffHere in Colorado a players card is used to log you in to page you. I don't know what this thread is about but based on my experiences at the Isle of Capri is Biloxi soon after Katrina I don't want to have anything to do with a casino owned or operated by them. That sweat the money joint in Biloxi is the only place where I came close to belting a stickman.Quote: buzzpaffPlay for 30 minutes on your IsleOne card and earn ...
