I still lament the day, Vegas laws were made that allowed all gambling slots to hide their odds. One of the worst mistakes ever. Even a general number with ideal play would be good enough.

Imagine doing any sort of recreation where you find out the actual cost by what you're charged afterwards. Take a vacation - okay what did that cost me? Buy a car -- how much did I pay for this?

with the exception of VP I suppose and few other caveats.

My credit card comes with a box that states if you pay this much each month, it will take X amount of time and outlines the interest rate you will pay.
Perhaps the slot should say- If you play $100 a month on this machine, after twenty years, your expected value is less than zero.
The older I get, the better I recall things that never happened

I think my complaint is more specific. You don’t know if the slot is 97% return or 87%.

I think most slot players would prefer to know if the machine is hot or not. Good luck if you work on getting it changed.

In Minnesota, slots cannot pay above 95%. So the pass line on crapless craps machines pays less than 95%. The double zero roulette machine pays less than 95%. The VBJ must have a setting to pay less than 95%.
New slot machines would be set up and people would play them for a week, then the machines would be tightened up over the following month then nobody played the machines.

If this is like pretty much every other best/worst question I have answered, I'll probably change my answer in 10 minutes or so, but at the moment, it's the law that bans using a phone app for VP strategy.

This is if it is limited to Nevada. Overall, I would say, California's law banning craps and roulette that don't use playing cards somehow. There does not appear to be a ballot measure for either of the 2026 elections that would change this.

The whole “third party player-banker” thing is really stupid as well as the Californian laws around “blackjack”
