Site not working on Chrome

FYI, I'm using Microsoft Edge now, but when I try getting on the site on Chrome, nothing loads. On the home page, recent posts, top contributors, latest blog posts, all have a continuous, never ending loading circle.

I would look at whatever may have been affected a few hours before I posted this thread. Seems this window includes 1200AM Vegas time. guys we still cant recreate the issue. can you clean your browsers cookies, history and hard refresh (ctrl +F5)

It's been not loading the forum page on android chrome for about 12 hours. If you click on the most recent posts title you can get into that, but the main page showing most recent posts does not load.

I had endless buffering, went in and cleared the browser history and it's working. Who knows what I lost but I have this site back. What else really matters, in the end.

I had the same issue in Chrome, and ctrl+F5 fixed it for me.

I was having a separate problem logging into anything with my Kindle. Amazon tech support got everything except this site working fine in the first ten minutes.
They couldn't get me into this site and after about twenty minutes decided the problem was with the site itself. Mine is working now, started about an hour a go.

In the past this site has always been unusually slow to load, however if you load it via incognito mode it will always load much faster. I suspect that it's because the site spends too much time trying to read the other sites that you've visited via cookies.

I have always assumed that the slow load when logged in was because the site was looking up the last post you had read in each thread in order to display properly whether there are new posts for you to read in a thread.

That's done with a timestamp. The server knows what time you were last on the website, so anything posted after that should be new to you.

I had a similar issue as has been described. The site would try to load the threads... But never stop loading. I did absolutely nothing, just not visiting the site yesterday, and it's working as intended today.
Its - Possessive; It's - "It is" / "It has"; There - Location; Their - Possessive; They're - "They are"

This is not done with any client-side data (e.g. cookies). It is done server side. I didn't write the code but you can infer this from the behavior. Sign in on a brand new device, and the site will still know what topics you have read and which you haven't. When you are signed in and open a topic, it keeps track of the latest post in that thread that you have read. When a newer post than that one is created, the thread goes back to unread for you (and clicking it will helpfully take you to the beginning of your unread posts).

I agree, AcesAndEights. I didn't think cookies were involved, other than perhaps to automatically log in my userID. I just expect that each time I do visit the forum, the server has to check my ID and look up what I have read in each thread that appears in the recent-threads list so that it can display the thread properly in that list. I suspect that takes some time, which may account for the slower startup when a user is signed in, compared to an anonymous visit.

Has not worked for me for two days on my Android phone. Little wheel shows the site is loading and it never loads.

my phone Is still not working and it does not work on chrome. I just logged in using edge and it works. Actually it works faster on edge than I have ever seen.

PokerGrinder got in touch otherwise, says he has been unable to access the site for 2 days via his phone.
As I was typing this, he said he did what Bleeding chips said to do upthread, and that fixed it for him.

I've got an old firefox (61.0.4) and the first page I go to ( https://wizardofvegas.com/forums/ ) has stayed in loading mode, but clicking the recent threads box ( goes to https://wizardofvegas.com/recent/ ) works.

Btw, now the format is back to how it was. Before doing that, the forum stuff was at far left of screen. Like now (and how it had been before), the forum contents were centered. Then for a short period of time it was left aligned. And now it's back to center. Black magic if you ask me.
BTW2: Can you make Alt+S be a hotkey to post? I hate having to click that button.
Oh and quick-reply. Add that plx, it's G.O.A.T.

I only had a problem on Safari. Once I cleared the cookies, it worked just fine. I never had an issue with Chrome on Windows 10.
