A friend of mine once joked that keeping his word must be a sin because he keeps getting punished for it.

So now that guy is scattering quarters throughout the casino and approaching players with his scam. Should have told him to get lost after sticking a quarter up his nose.

There are no limits to the greediness of social parasites. I was once in Atlantic City a few years ago and found a Bus ticket to Port Authority in NYC. It was around a bank of Blazing 7's Slot Machines, so I sat down and started playing the machine until someone came by looking for it and I would gladly hand it over.

Alas nobody came by looking for the ticket so I thought I'd cut my losses on this $1 machine(down $65 by that point). As I hit the cash out button for $35, the machine makes a loud noise like most slot machines do when you cash out.

Out of nowhere, a young, scarecrow looking fella came up to me and gave me a sob story of how he needs $19 for Bus fare to Brooklyn. I told him I lost a lot today(actually won about $250) and I couldn't help out with cash. He walked away(or so I thought) and I decided to put the ticket back in the machine and play it out instead of going to a redemption machine and possibly being bothered again by the Scarecrow.

On the 10th spin of the $35, the machine hits 3 Red Sevens for $300! It wasn't even 5 seconds before the derelict came over again feigning excitement over MY win. Meaning he was sitting on the other side the whole time watching me play and waiting for an opportunity to pan handle. He says "Alright, looks like you won. Can you help me out with $20?"

I thought you said it was $19 for a ticket? He said "Well there might be taxes?" Which there aren't for bus tickets in AC from a casino ticket window. So I said, "I got something better , here's a ticket to Port Authority and the next bus comes here in about 20 minutes" I give him the ticket stub I found and he looks completely deflated, but doesn't say thank you or have a look of relief on his face.

I walk away thinking I did something good for this young man, only to see him trying to sell the ticket by the bus waiting area 2 hours later... I guess Cocaine is Helluva Drug!!!
