A few things to note about the buffet.... one there is almost nobody ever in line anymore so your wait time will be very short to get seated.
The reason for that might be because the food available is not the best and the selection seems to decrease with each visit.
Now remember its a buffet, so when the older fella in front of me asked the chef for THREE spareribs he was shocked to learn the limit was 2 ribs at a time.... the look on his face said it all.... he surely thought the chef was joking, but no he was not. He was told if he wanted more he had to come back to get TWO more at a time. They used to have ribs in the trays help yourself to how many you want. Trust me two will do as the boiled ribs suck pretty bad glad THOM has opened up his new rib place on Erie Street ( Thom is son of the former owners of TBQ Chicken and Ribs in downtown Windsor that is now closed)
My buddy hardly ever eats there but does enjoy it when treated to a meal there. He went up for seconds and had the chef cut him some more meat.... while getting a few slices cut he said to the chef that's pretty tough PRIME RIB tonight.... chef replys its ROAST BEEF....we no longer serve PRIME RIB Mondays Tuesdays or Wednesdays...just ROAST BEEF. This is not disclosed anywhere before you pay for you meal
Moms friend from the states is a Vegetarian and mentioned how much of the fresh vegetable selection has been cut back. One thing you can no longer get is cauliflower guess its getting too expensive to offer at $24 per person
Go on Friday night its over $30 per person but PRIME RIB is served along with shrimp I believe not sure about crab legs being on the menu anymore.
It might still be a decent deal to Americans with the 35% exchange rate bringing the price down to $16 US or so but if you want a decent meal check out groupon and see if one of the local food places is offering any deals Buddy from Toronto has used this one before and said the meal was very good

One of the worst casino buffets I've ever been to.
For $24 you could get a full meal at La Maison du Magret which is a duck-based restaurant, using that Groupon site you mentioned.

Yeah, a lot of places do that "steamship" thing like it's a big deal... it's round roast.
Apparently you haven't been to places like Westward Hoe and circus circus in the 90's. I have been to some horrible buffets. Circus's breakfast buffet was horrible. Everything was dry and tasted like the serving pans.Quote: ams288I also only had it once. Never again.

I can't palate the Palace Station buffet. To be fair it's been years since I have eaten there.
IIRC it was the Rio that helped start the good buffet trend. Before that it was all crap.
I'm officially sick of the Wynn buffet. They finally cut me off their mailing list anyways.
Luckily there are quite a few places with good reputations that I haven't tried.

You are correct. I was a child in the 90s so I cannot comment on the buffet quality back then.
I mainly stick to casino buffets on the strip and a couple here in Detroit.
buffets. I was coming back from an auction
in Nebraska 10 years ago, and stopped at
a KFC buffet at the NE/IA state line on the
interstate. The place was empty, everything
in the buffet had a hard crust on top. There
was mac cheese, mashed potatoes, pork
and beans, scalloped potatoes, grits with
cheese, and other crusted over specialty's,
like green bean casserole. The stuff had a
crust on top that you could bang a spoon
on. Hadn't been touched in hours under the
heat lamps.
The deal was, get a bucket greezy chicken,
and load as much of the buffet into a
styrofoam container as you could. I didn't
eat that day, just slowly backed out the door
and headed for the border. I remember it
like it was yesterday.

Greezy? You've been having in the Grand Rapids ghettos to long :-)
Never understood the whole Buffett thing anyone / much prefer quality over quantity. It to mention how dirty they are
