Pretty sure it was something like $5.99 for a withdrawal at Caesars Casinos last time I was there. Had I know that at the time my withdrawal would have been larger than the few hundred I took out ( traveling from outside the US of A I didnt want to come up to customs with thousands in my pocket even with my ticket saying I was flying to Las Vegas)
One might consider this their RESORT FEE test ...how much will these suckers pay without complaining>?
And while we are on the subject of ATM....those ones they have at places like SOUTH POINT/ PALMS...whats up with having screens where everybody around can see what you are doing at the machine?
Quote: kewljUse the ATM @ El Cortez. They will give you back 5% of your ATM withdrawl amount in free play, up to $50 per month.
Really? How does that work?
Quote: coilmanIs there ANYWHERE in North America with higher ATM FEES than the city of Las Vegas?
No idea.
But I'm sure beginning to feel a great deal of appreciation for Mexico's banking system. While ATMs will charge fees most of the time, you can withdraw money from your debit card, up to I think 2,000 pesos, without a fee from any supermarket register. Of course, you ahve to buy something first. But the convenience is worth it. And even if you spend, say $2 on gum, which might be about as much as the ATM fee, at least you get gum in return.
Also, all checks clear or bounce by the next business day after 12 pm. That's the advantage of having very few banks in the country.
You may choose to bring large sums of money with you in the form of cash, money order, or traveler's checks when entering the U.S. You may bring as much money as you wish into the U.S., however, any amounts of money exceeding the allowed $10,000 (U.S. dollars) maximum must be declared in advance.
When you arrive in the U.S., you are required to declare all monies that you are bringing into the country. You will receive Form 6059B Customs Declaration, which must be filled in completely and truthfully. If you do not declare your money, the penalties for non-compliance can be severe. Your money might be taken away, you will be required to provide a written explanation of your failure to comply, your case will be evaluated, and you might have to pay a considerable fine.
For more information, refer to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency web site.

Up here it's called cash back and it's very common. Convenience stores like 7-11 will limit you to like $20 but supermarkets I've seen $100 and $200. In fact it's pushed by pretty much everyone, most stores will make you say "no" to cash back during every transaction.

When Harrah's was in St. Louis, the ATM fee was $5.99 as well. Since Hollywood took over, they bragged about lowering the fee to $4.50...lol It's a "casino/tourist thing", not a "Vegas thing". They know you're desperate for cash, and they will totally stick it to you. What I find funny is, 90% of people withdraw $200 or less with that massive fee.
Quote: BeardgoatYeah $5.99 fee sucks but if I need more money I have no other options. Of course I could just stop gambling, but that isn't any fun. I did pay a $20 ATM fee once at a strip club. I was mad at myself for like 2 weeks after that one.
We know what you wanted to spend the $20 on!!!
Quote: terapinedI use Bank of America. They got ATM's all over the place. No fee if I use a BOA ATM. I stay downtown, BOA has a branch a block behind the D with a outside ATM.
Thanks. I have BOA too, so I will have to def keep that in mind. With the damn huge ATM fees, I tend to be more cash-heavy when in Vegas.
lot, get a bank account in your home town that has
branches in Vegas, problem solved. If you HAVE to
use a casino ATM, you have bigger issues than fee's.
Quote: bigfoot66Really? How does that work?
I am not exactly sure. I noticed the sign 10 feet in front of the cage, last week when I was there, but only glanced at it. A couple days ago, I took the time to read it and it says 5% of ATM withdrawls, using a debit or EBT card will be credited to your players card in free play up to a total of $50 per month. I immediately though it would be worth making a couple ATM withdrawls as the free play would be greater than my bank fee for using a non-bank ATM, but the down side for me, would be I am sure you must show Id and I don't do Id at El Cortez. They are not that fond of me. :(
Quote: kewljusing a debit or EBT card
Unless those cash withdrawals are funded by the EBT user's own money, that's total bull. I'm unsure if Nevada funds cash on EBT cards or not.

Quote: Beethoven9thWell, when you use an ATM at a casino, what else do you expect?
The ones locally in the city I live in here in Alberta charge either $1.75 or $2.25 depending on which one you go to. Caesars in Windsor is $3 I believe.
Can somebody chime in on what Atlantic City is charging>? Seems people are conditioned to being screwed over by the casinos in Vegas .
Those silly kiosks that allow you to select either the casino's Players Club or an ATM screen are absurd. If the screen is large and plain enough for the Players Club it is TOO large and plain to be used as an ATM.
Perhaps that casino in Reno that for decades had no credit department had the right idea: Bring Cash, if its gone... go home.
If you must get cash, a Discover Card at a grocery store will allow you a Cashback Option for modest amounts.
And you can always talk to a cab driver, they usually know about ATMs with no lines and no fees and will make a detour for you.
Be advised: I've heard that the worst ATM fees levied are at the Detention Center.

AC casinos are charging $5-$5.99 from what I've seen.

Month and two is the ATM refund banks. I would tell you who offers ATM refund but I don't want them to stop if too many people do it at this tiny bank. Look for banks outside Nevada you can find them.

Yeah, if there's one thing banks hate, it's too many customers and too much of their money to invest. Better keep quiet about this.

Especially when only a max of 50 people may actually bother to read it and take advantage of it here...haha
I don't live in Nevada, so I won't.

Ally bank, online banking with high interest compared to other banks, and all ATM fees refunded.
Not only is the fee super high, but they usually limit your withdrawl to $100 or $200 at a time so they can ding you a few more $8-$12 transaction fees.

Post of the year
I remember a BofA ATM inside the M&Ms building exhibit.
And then there is a BofA on Sahara just a few blocks off the strip, another BofA on Flamingo near the Orleans. If you don't have a car it's not worth taking a cab there from the Stirp.

You just won't find them on the casino floor.
Quote: TheJacobAs someone said there are 2 BOA ATMs in the shops at caesar's. So you can find ATMs to use on/near the strip if you look.

Those don't exist anymore...I looked up and down for them in 2012.

For right at the strip area, the BoA web site only shows the one at M&M World.

I wish I would have known that last trip...I would have probably walked a few blocks each way to save $8...lol Oh well, using the MGM Grand ATM got me back into the poker game faster, and I nearly made a full recovery. :)
Quote: SONBP2I am not sure if this was posted, but Casino Royale's ATM Fees two years was either $2.00 or $3.00, the cheapest I knew of on the strip. However, many times the ATM/Bill Breaker was down, but there was an ATM near the cage that had the same fee.
I also heard this too...but I dunno what the current rates are.
My local Native American casino uses this check cashing card company.
VIP Preferred
You bring them a blank check, they scan it for your account number, they must get some other data too...maybe even run a credit check?(IDK).
They mail you a debit card with PIN.
Then when you need cash, bring card to cage with ID and get cash.
NO FEE.
My limit is $3000 and is debited the next banking day or so.
If you're in Las Vegas it works at Station Properties, Wynn, Cosmo and The D...among others.
In AC it works at the Borgata.

I just checked on this yesterday, and the Casino Royale's ATM fee with a PIN was just $1. Here is a picture to prove it. Sorry it is in Spanish.
