I have apologized since moving to Grand junction, to the HORSE.
Air Fare GJ to Las Vegas 10-2 & 10-4 Round Trip $367.
Air Fare Denver to Vegas 10-2 $ 10-4 Round Trip $107.

I assume that the GJ flight has a stop, and possibly a plane change. If so, that kinda makes sense. If you insist on flying on a half-empty plane from that little airport, etc.
I'm still trying to figure out how it's cheaper to fly from Philly to Vegas via Newark, than flying direct from Newark...

Try Allegiant Airlines. They specialize in flying from one horse towns like yours to Las Vegas.
Air Fare GJ to Las Vegas 9-30 & 10-4 Round Trip $87.60, with a debit card $79.60.
The only thing is they only fly to Vegas on SUNDAY and THURSDAY, so you will have to miss a few days of school. Hopefully your mom will write a note for you to your teacher.

why is there no public transport in las vegas?
eg; a bus from the airport?
to the strip and other places
not on the strip.
hotels etc;
this is the norm; all over europe!

There are three very useful buses from the airport. I'm working on a piece about RTC for Wizard of Vegas, so look for it.

i can second this. id routinely fly to vegas with allegiant airlines out of a little airport in southbend, indiana. it was much better flying out of there than midway or ohare.
