and is probably the most fun of the games you listed.
Roulette can be fun but the house edge is high (5.26% on inside bets and 2.73% on outside bets with Atlantic City rules)
Spanish 21 has a low edge (.40%) but requires alot of strategy knowledge to achieve that low edge.
The blackjack rules in Atlantic city have gone downhill a little
and now it is nearly impossible to find a Stand 17 game without paying $25 or $50 a hand,
House edge is around .65%
Be sure to play at a table that pays 3:2 and not 6:5!
I would avoid the $1 game as they charge .25 per hand which gives the house a huge edge.
I would say switch it up between blackjack and craps.
Quote: WongBoI would suggest craps, as it has a relatively low house edge (0.374% pass w/3-4-5 odds)
and is probably the most fun of the games you listed.
It gets even better than that--Bally's allows 10x odds. Their craps tables have tended to be rather quiet when I've played there though, not as much of a party atmosphere. I second the recommendation for Wild Wild West--it's a short stroll across a covered walkway, and is geared toward the party crowd so you'll have a great time.
Quote: ajemeisterJust wanted some inputs on what to play. I'll be down there with a few friends. We normally play Blackjack following basic strategy, but I may be willing to spice it up a bit since the tables are always full.. which of these games is good for a "party" atmosphere (4-5 of us)? Craps, Roulette, Blackjack, Spanish 21, any other suggestions? So far I've read gambling 102 as well as Craps: Take the money and run. Looking to play something while drinking excessively, that's why I was maybe thinking craps (pass line + odds) or roulette ? Any suggestions?
Four or Five drunken, rowdy young men?
Craps table for sure!!
BJ if you can get a table together.
Roulette is fun for a group of revelers, but at 5.26% house edge no one's bankroll tends to last all that long.
Mini-Bacc is simple since you only have two choices: Players Hand or Bankers Hand. 25.00 minimum will erode the bankroll very soon though.

Geez, I need to pay better attention. I was quickly scanning through all the latest thread posts and came across this one. I forgot what thread it was in and thought it was a reference to the Wild Wild West in Las Vegas. Covered walkway??? Geared toward the party crowd??? Yep, need to pay better attention. :-)
Follow the advice in Gambling 102, not Take the Money and Run. With a $250 bankroll I would play pass line and 2x odds. Increase odds as tolerance for variance allows.
Believe it or not, another fun game with a group can be slots. Pick a dumb game with a bunch of machines next to each other, like WoF or The Hangover slots. Bet some stupid amount, like $0.40, and have some fun with the bonuses, etc. Drinks come often. Obviously, not something to do for any extended period of time.
Quote: teddysCraps, definitely. Play at Wild Wild West if it is still open. (I heard they closed their table games).
No, but they did cut them back and they're only open on weekends (at least as of December 2011). OP said he's heading up on Friday so he should be alright.
Caesars next door usually has more tables open, but limits are slightly higher. For lower odds (but no CZR points) Trump Plaza is 2 doors up with low limits and mostly empty tables.
Walk up to Showboat. The weather is supposed to be great, you can get a peek at Revel next door (the outside of it anyway), and Showboat tends to have lower minimums. And it's a Caesars property.
Horrors! That's the only place I liked playing at Bally's. A pox on their first-born!Quote: BozAll Table games in the WWW at Ballys AC are CLOSED 100% of the time and actually removed now. Also most of the slot machines are gone. They closed the back entrance to WWW from Caesars, but the front is still open. the Mountain Bar and the Buffet are also still open along with the slots in Coyote Kates smoking area.

WOAH WOAH WOAH!
When did this happen? I was just there in February.. The tables were still there but I hadn't played them since the time before that (January)
