You are given a choice of 3 doors 2 of the doors contain zonks and one door contains a car. The game show host knows where the car and zonks are and always shows you a zonk. Then he asks you do you want to switch your choice or keep the door you have? What gives you the best probabilty to win and why after the zonk is shown to you?

This is the Monty Hall paradox and its been
done to death here. Its even been done on
Mythbusters.

Bribe the host. Because he knows where the car is hidden.

This is the Monty Hall paradox .

This is not even a paradox. If the problem is told correctly there is no legitimate dispute that the answer is to switch. When Marilyn Vos Savant posted the problem she did a terrible job of explaining the question, resulting in a huge debate. The key is you have to emphasize, as the OP did, that Monty knows there the car is and always reveals a zonk before allowing the player to switch.

The Wizard is absolutlely right and 18 out of 18 people stayed with there original door being wrong on Mythbusters. 7 out of 10 people on here switched meaning we have smarter than average people on this forum.

But only allows the option to switch if you have chosen the door with the car. Or does he? Only Monte knows.
