I'm visiting son of SOOPOO who is at Mississippi State University, which is a short drive from the Pearl River resort with Silver Star and Golden Moon casinos. We tried calling to see if they have Pai Gow poker but I'm not sure if the maid they had answering the phone knew what I was asking about. She seemed to think not, but we did find a web site which listed casinos with Pai Gow and Silver Star was on that list. Anyone been there recently? It's a bit too far to drive to Tunica or Biloxi.

I was there a few weeks ago. They do not have PGP, which is my favorite game. Good luck - I played alot of blackjack and had fun.

I have nothing more to add to the answer you already have. I just thought I should mention that my understanding is that the Golden Moon casino doesn't even operate any more. A few years ago, it operated on the weekends only. Then, or so I have been told, they took out the casino and converted the space to a performance venue. I think the hotel still operates only on weekends. It's just across the street from the Silver Star and connected by a bridge, so even if you stay there on a weekend, you will have a non-PGP casino convenient.

If my info on the Golden Moon is incorrect or out of date, someone please let me know -- I will need to get back down there for a souvenir Golden Moon chip for my collection.

Thanks Timber and Doc. If we go I'll get you a Golden Moon chip. I haven't been to a casino to solely play blackjack in a long time.

Thanks for the offer, SOOPOO, but please don't bother. My collection is of chips from casinos where I have visited/played myself. I picked up my Silver Star chip when I was there one mid-week in 2010 when Golden Moon was only operating on weekends, before that casino closed completely. If you do visit Golden Moon, just let me know whether the casino is in operation again and has table games with chips. It seems I can get to Mississippi at least once a year (April and November trips this year), and I can get back to Pearl River if there is something waiting there for me.

Golden Moon has a small slots only area open on the weekends as of the end of October. If there are table games, they were well hidden.
