My understanding is that the Pairs Plus is not really a very good bet, but I wouldn't mind throwing a dollar on it now and then if it is allowed.
Quote: blount2000At casinos in Vegas, does the Pairs Plus bet in 3CP have to be the table minimum? In other words if the table minimum is $5, can I put $5 on the ante and only $1 on the Pairs Plus? Or do both bets have to be at least $5 each?

FWIW I asked at the Fitz. The dealer said it had to be the table minimum at least. I didn't ask elsewhere, but I never saw anyone bet less.
In PGP at the Excalibur, you could bet less than the table minimum on the sucker bets But if you did that you didn't get an envy bonus.

Thanks, Nareed.
Those are the two games (3CP and PGP) that I'm wanting to try out next time I'm there. I usually only play craps for the most part, but I've been wanting to find a couple of alternatives since it is sometimes hard to find a low minimum craps table that isn't packed to the teeth.
Plus, I wouldn't mind being able to sit down while I'm playing. Not so easy to do at the craps table!
In 3CP and 4CP (or Crazy 4), you can bet only the bonus so the bonus needs to be at least the table minimum. In PGP and UTH, the bonus bets are only available if the main bet is made so the bonus bet can be less than the minimum.

I rather like 3CP and PGP, too. I usually bet $5 on ante and 5$ on play when warranted. My MO is to bet pair+ only if/when I double my buy in. Next time I will try doubling the ante/play instead. In PGP I want to make the Pai Gow insurance bet at least once. No one makes it, apparently :)

Have you tried Rapid Craps? Chairs are part of the gear. They should still have it at Bill's. Odds are 3,4,5X, minimum was $3 in May '10 and ther ewas no Fire Bet. Of course, ti tended to be crowded, too. You can't have everything.

I don't know the specifics, but everywhere I've ever played requires the Pairs Plus Bet to be at least the table minimum. Those who have the AWFUL 6-card bet require a $5 min, even if the table is $10+.
Personally, I stopped playing TCP when you could no longer find 40-30-6-4-1. I enjoy the game too... Luckilly, the Shufflemaster electronic tables have 35-25-6-4-1, although they don't have an Ante bonus, so that makes that bet much worse. Again, PERSONALLY, I won't play that game without the Pairs Plus bet. It moves too slowly and you'll hit enough big hands that will make you regret not playing it at that particular moment. And I haven't played it live in forever....

1) Any of those in Vegas?
2) Can you play only the Pair+ without Ante/Play? (not that I would usually, but when I'm down to my last $5 I will sometimes).
Thanks

I don't know of any place specifically in Vegas that has the games, but check Slots-A-Fun, as they have the electronic tables.
On those machines, I don't believe you can JUST play the Pairs Plus... I think it's treated like a side bet as opposed to its own game.

Thanks. I'll look it up just in case.
